Don Rickles nearly hijacked the American Film Institute’s tribute to Shirley MacLaine on Thursday night at Sony Pictures Studios, unleashing a trademark barrage of insults that took aim at President Obama, Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson and the honoree herself.
“I shouldn’t make fun of the blacks,” Rickles said, and then proceeded to do just that: “President Obama is a personal friend of mine. He was over to the house yesterday, but the mop broke.”
The black-tie crowd, gathered to celebrate MacLaine, the 40th recipient of the AFI’s Life Achievement Award, alternately gasped at the 86-year-old comic’s put-downs and then found themselves laughing and applauding.

It would have been better and more laughable if he had, instead of “the mop broke”, had said, “the Crack pipe broke.
If they did not want people to joke about obama. Then they should have told obama not to be one!

Obama is a joke. Rickles was well within his rights to make fun of him. Obama does not deserve any more respect than that.

This is another thing the left is destroying. The freedom to be a comedian. Freedom of speech. They should be allowed to joke about whatever they wish funny or not. Free to fail at a joke or telling a bad one. Nothing should be off the table. Now with all the political correctness the left has decided to control what is said. Maybe they should publish the list of words they will allow us to use.
What’s NOT funny is that in America today no one, except other Blacks, can tell a joke on Blacks or use the “N” word. Jokes are funny because there’s a grain of truth in the best ones. I tell jokes on rednecks, my wife, blondes, fat or skinny people, American Indians, Brits or other Europeans, “loose” women, just about everybody EXCEPT Blacks in groups where Blacks are present. They have become so thin-skinned that it is unreal. What’s even worse is even TALKING about slavery. You’d think that today’s Blacks just got freed from the plantation when 95% of them never even SAW a plantation except in movies, & there ain’t a one today who ever even KNEW somebody who was born into slavery, let alone experienced it.
Cameron, that was well put. The liberals and progressives have gotten everyone to be afraid to say what is on their mind, and worse, encourages violence against people they deem “oppressive” (and the term is used against anyone considered to be a conservative). If a black can call a fellow black a nigger and call a white a cracker or other racial epithet, then such blacks should put up with being called black garbage for their insensitivity and allow whites to use exactly the same words as they themselves use.
If they don’t like the words, remove those unpalatable words from their vocabulary permanently.
Oh yeah and I say old sharpten needs to publish a book with all the allowable words in it. But I am not going to hold my breath.
I think Don hit the nail on the head! Nothing could ever be said about Obama that was bad and not be true! He is the worst piece of s*it on earth.

I have always been a fan of Don Rickles. He makes one mistake though, Obama might be a joke, but this joker has done more to damage the United States than any terrorist could ever dream of doing. Right on Don Rickles.
Its all about the freedom. They can say what they want and joke about anything. The audience either gets to joke and laughs or they do not. Freedom of artistic creativity. Freedom.
Well, obama wants to be part of the Hollywood crowd, so maybe they can do a roast on him and say some really great things. The mop joke was great, but I could think of a hundred more just like it. He’s a joke in himself without anyone thinking up anymore. The sooner he is removed the better this country will be and we can start making headway back to greatness!!!!!!!!!!
Don Rickles is very funny and I have liked the guy for many years-now that he has made fun of that muslim deadbeat lounger and vacationer-I have to say that he should have been president instead-then we all would be re-electing him for putting us back to being number 1 in the world economy-instead of down in the dumps from an illegal alien dummy that instead of making folks laugh like Mister Don-he makes them vomit from disgust
