U.S. Sens. Harry Reid and Dean Heller are shedding political donations amid reports that a Nevada developer and lobbyist is the target of a federal campaign finance investigation.
Heller’s communications director said Tuesday the Republican Nevada senator will donate to charity some $26,700 he received from Harvey Whittemore.
A Reid spokeswoman said money donated to the Senate majority leader had been given to charity, but wouldn’t provide an amount.
