With constant interruptions, chuckling like a clown in the background, and grinning like the Cheshire Cat in Walt Disney’s version of “Alice in Wonderland”, Joe Biden gave the rudest performance in the history of nationally televised debates. Biden’s demeanor and actions turned what should have been a serious discussion of the troubling issues facing America into a farce.
The best post-debate analysis came from Mike Huckabee, who told the FOXNEWS audience, “I thought Joe Biden came across like a guy you meet at a cocktail party or some political event, an obnoxious drunk who’s loud and boisterous and interrupts every conversation. He just is the kind of guy you want to get away from as quickly as you can and go find someone else to talk to. It was just boorish behavior for the first half.”
It all started with his nonsensical defense of the Obama Administration’s handling of the tragic terrorist attacks in Libya on 9-11. Biden was unequivocal in his statement that the administration was not told that officials in Libya requested more security. Even a cursory review of the facts proves this statement a flat-out fabrication. Repeated requests came from Libya before the attack that led to the death of several Americans, including our ambassador.
Even the mainstream media is predicting that Biden has a problem. Testimony before Congress shows Biden to be fibbing at best. Charlene R. Lamb, a deputy assistant secretary for diplomatic security, told Congress she refused requests for more security in Benghazi. She testified under oath that the State Department wanted to train Libyans to protect the consulate, quote: “Yes, sir, I said personally I would not support it.”
Eric Nordstrom, the former top security official in Libya, testified that he personally sought more security. He testified that people in Washington led him to believe that it was “abundantly clear we were not going to get resources until the aftermath of an incident. How thin does the ice have to get before someone falls through?” He said his exasperation reached a point where he told a colleague that “for me, the Taliban is on the inside of the building.”
In between his fabrication of facts, Biden chuckled and laughed. The death of Americans is no laughing matter. The security of American personnel working abroad is no laughing matter. Joe Biden should be ashamed of the manner in which he acted. Would he act this way with a foreign head of state, too? We hope not. We are ashamed that he is Vice President of the United States and would act so juvenile.
But it didn’t stop there. Biden laughed and grinned through at least half of the debate. He laughed about the debt crisis. He laughed about the need to reform entitlements. He laughed repeatedly at the serious proposals Paul Ryan was doing his best to discuss.
But most unseemly was his laughing about the approaching fiscal cliff and taxmageddon. Biden defended President Obama’s plan to raise the top two marginal tax rates. Raising taxes while the economy is just sputtering along would be devastating. Even such unbiased sources as the accounting firm Ernst & Young agree with the figure Paul Ryan quoted, that 710,000 jobs would not be created if Obama’s plan goes forward. The companies affected by these taxes are the most successful small businesses that do all the hiring.
This election and the current state of America’s affairs are no laughing matter. Joe Biden, your laughing and smug grins are an embarrassment to us all.

obama said he learned years ago that if he smiled and was friendly people would like him. Must have had a talk with Biden, just does not understand that may work in social setting but not on job interviews. Biden made a fool of himself. The worst for me was the practicing Catholic all his life but his view on abortion would change for political gain. Nuff said.
True comment!! WHAT a person ‘purports’ to believe is WHAT defines that person. If you are unwilling to stand up for what you believe, then you believe in nothing. Also, during the debate, Joe’s smirking and interrupting was a ruse to distract the viewers from the serious issues that Paul Ryan was addressing.
The comment that it was the Military of the individual Countries ‘job’ to fight Al-Qaeda and terrorists was not true in the instance of OUR Embasy!! It was the United States job to protect OUR Ambassador…OUR Leaders let them down. They refused multiple requests for more protection! They knew from internal sources for several days before this terrorist attack that it was imminent. Our Leaders could have evacuated these Americans who were asking for help!! The bottom line is…THEY DID NOTHING!!
Of course they did nothing, they denied it was even a terrorist attack until after 2 weeks having the American public tell them that it was…yet the kept denying the truth what do you expect from wise A SS Joe
He can say he’s a practicing Catholic, but since he doesn’t believe in Church Doctrine, he isn’t Especially if he agrees with his boss the Muslim-In-Chief . It isn’t troubling that Biden went to such great lengths to lower himself last night, that was expected and he carried it out masterfully.
What IS troubling is the lengths that Democrats have gone today to white-wash Bozo the Biden’s absolutely puerile conduct. There was something funny on TV last night? That was intended to be a deadly serious discussion about the state of America in an ever more dangerous world. Biden treated the whole affair as if it were a school yard argument among 4th graders.
Hmmm ….. perhaps that is exactly how the Lib Left views things. Through the eyes of immature schoolyard 4th graders. That explains much.

It hs been proven over and over last night and todafy that he lied on numerous occasions – just like his cohort Obama, does.
Joe Biden creamed Paul Ryan. He laughed in Ryan’s face and left him speechless. He shook Ryan’s ideas until they fell apart like the crepe paper and chicken wire that they truly are. (It’s important to note that Martha Raddatz’s fine moderation held Ryan to the truth, too. Republicans are surely going to target Raddatz in the next few days, as they do all “uppity” women, but Raddatz should be proud of the fact that she reminded America what a great debate moderator is supposed to do.) Biden clearly stated his beliefs as a Democrat. He argued that America cares about Americans, and he fact-checked Ryan at every turn. (I was particularly moved by Biden’s personal opposition as a Catholic to abortion, but his commitment to the fact that, as an elected official, it’s not his job to impose his will on the American people.) Biden out-argued, out-spoke, and out-thought the smartest man the Republicans have to offer, and he did so armed with the courage of his convictions. It was masterful, and he made Ryan look like the whiny child he is.

I don’t disagree with any of that. The good book is a great book. But it’s original and continuing purpose is to codify and enforce a patriarchal world. We can pay down the debt, but we need to raise taxes on people like me. The math simply doesn’t work otherwise. Death panels are a myth. We spend too much on the military–Congress just approved the purchase of even more M1-A1 tanks, even though the Pentagon said it didn’t want them and has more than 2,000 sitting in storage. That’s corruption for you. We need to stop building Cold War era weapons systems that are irrelevant on the battlefields of the 21st century.
Oh I totally agree that government must be cut and be accountable for every dollar they spend. We keep peace most often with a show of strength and give non rebels time to gain strength to defend themselves. I consider it a death panel when government determines who will live and who will die by denying treatments or medications. We have always taken care of our young, old and sick but the younger ppl don’t seen to know that now. We all went to the doctor and paid our bills as we could until government gave control of our insurance over to insurance companies. That was our downfall and setting up for government control which is unconstitutional. Physicians kept healthcare cost down and did not charge interest on accounts they carried themselves. We have been set up! A panel of fifteen will determine who is worth saving and they are not even physicians. It comes down to cost and what they can contribute to the government. The guy was unbelievably rude to Paul Ryan and sometimes to Martha. Whenever he didn’t agree with something Paul Ryan was saying he would interrupt him and start talking in Mr. Ryan’s time. I thought he was disgustingly arrogant and treated the whole debate as something that was beneath him to be involved in. His continual laughing and mumbling was distracting when we were trying to hear what Paul Ryan was saying. He acted like a rude clown and he IS an embarrassment to the people of America. To think, as someone said on Fox today, he’s a heartbeat away from the presidency is nauseating!!!!
