Ted Cruz SC Cruz Sworn In As Texas’ First Hispanic US Senator

AUSTIN, Texas (CBS/AP) — Tea party darling Ted Cruz has been sworn in as U.S. senator and says his first order of businessicon1 Cruz Sworn In As Texas’ First Hispanic US Senator will be introducing a bill he knows will never pass.

Cruz is a Cuban-American and former state solicitor general. On Thursday, he became the first Hispanic to represent Texas in the Senate.

He has pledged that his first bill would seek to repeal “every syllable of every word” of the Obama administration’s health care reform law.

Now in office, Cruz said he will keep that promise, even though he knows Senate Democrats and President Barack Obama will ensure his bill won’t become law.

  1. DOES THIS MEAN HE IS NO LONGER A “HOMEY”……..AFTER ALL , THE BLACKS HAVE SHIED AWAY FROM TIM SCOTT…..

    • Hispanic heritage fits right in.
About as many Mexicans as Gringos fought side by side in the War for Texan Independence from Spain and Mexico. Now maybe an Hispanic Texan can help fight for independence from the federal government, which comes more and more to resemble George the Third of England.
The Mexican Texas patriots were also in part native American, for Spain sent almost exclusively men to colonize the Americas, unlike the English, who a century or so later sent families to North America.
How many know what happened in 1776? Not just on the Eastern Seaboard. In California, the Spanish Empire built the Presidio as a bulwark against Russian conquest from the north.

    • By all accounts Tim Scott and Ted Cruz are both sound constitutional American patriots, in contrast to the RINOs who are currently running the GOP down the progressive path to perdition.
The RINOs have given up fighting tyranny. They just maintain they can run it better.

    • This is another friendly reply to samspad. The system seems not to want to place them immediately after the message to which they are directed. The first eingriff comment was intended to be a main comment, not a reply to samspad.
Typical communist strategy is to infiltrate causes and institutions, often meritorious at their core and inception, and taking them over. Like racial equality. The Obama cabal, pretending Obama is black, tries to own racial equality in their own special minstrel show. This includes constant attempts to pose Obama as a true black. He’s not; his claimed black father adopted him at birth. Part of this psy/ops scheme is the denigration, as it were, of black conservatives like Tim Scott and Allen B. West. For communism, a mixture of the stupidity of Marx and the ruthless violence of Lenin, is less about good government and more about attaining and retaining totalitarian control. Truth is collateral damage.
I would love to see Obama as a guest on that show “Who do you think you are?” with, say, Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and my old school chum Vernon Eulion Jordan, Jr., Esq., and have an analysis of his DNA published, which shows beyond reasonable scientific doubt that neither of his parents was Negro.
