In the most troubling news to date about the state of news industry, the New York Times is threatening to shut down the Boston Globe unless the Globe’s unions quickly agree to $20 million in cuts.
As the Globe reports today: “This week, the Globe newsroom completed cutting the equivalent of 50 full-time jobs. But the deteriorating economy has made the Globe’s financial outlook much worse … The Times Co. is seeking (new) concessions from the unions because the New York company, which is also suffering from the recession, can no longer subsidize the Globe’s losses…”
Hearst stopped printing the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, but the Seattle Times remains. Scripps shut down the Rocky Mountain News, but the Denver Post is still in business.

To use "Journalism and Boston Globe" in the same sentence, or Headline is an oxymoron! With "reporters" like Sally Jacobs who has the less- redacted immigration file of Barrack Obama SR. but refuses to provide it, use it in her so-called Biography of the President of the United States, there is no journalism at that Newspaper, like the New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle. The Internet has replaced newspapers because they are simply an arm and division of the Obama Administration. Anything that is unfavorable to Obama or the Leftist agenda is simply ignored or suppressed and anything that is damaging to a GOP Candidate or Conservatism, Traditional values, is reported extensively, and so biased as to be disgusting. There is no objective or investigative reporting. I wouldn't buy a copy of the Boston Globe to put on the bottom of a birdcage for fear the bird would be indoctrinated and turn Red!
Too bad about the demise of The Globe. I heard their crack investigative team was going to look into how come Obama and Harrison J Bounel use the same social security number-042-68-4425 and why on credit reports Harrison J Bounel is listed as a relative of Michelle Obama's. and why 3 people own the mansion in Chicago that Barack calls home. After that look up Obama, "Man's Country" gay club Chicago.
Let's all occupy the NYT and shut that piece of butt wipe down, give capitalism a chance and restore the free market.
Get rid of all government unions and stop compromising elections.
