Liberty News is taking some credit for propelling one woman into Internet fame – or infamy, depending on your point of view – after sharing this photo with its social media audience.

The woman, Holly Fisher, has now seen the image, tagged with the caption “How to make a liberal’s head explode,” reach a huge audience.

While there was plenty of support for her clever take on the left’s common targets (Hobby Lobby, Chick-fil-A, and abortion), there was also a significant amount of backlash – including death threats – against the mother of three.

With the photo’s ‘likes’ now well into six-digit territory, the associated comments are liberally peppered with outrageously hateful statements by ideological detractors.

The responses on Twitter were equally if not more vulgar. Fisher responded to her sudden notoriety, however, with a healthy dose of humility and humor.

Fisher spoke to Western Journalism about the online fallout, noting that her friends and family members have expressed mixed feelings about her newfound celebrity.

“My friends are shocked,” she said. “I’ve got a lot of texts asking if I’m OK and people in disbelief about the things people say and how well I take it.”

She said her mother, specifically, has a natural protective desire, urging her to invest in an alarm system.

As the subject of this Internet hate, however, Fisher continues to take it all in stride.

“It really doesn’t bother me that some coward is hiding behind their keyboard thinking of rude things to say to some stranger.”

Fisher told Liberty News that she initially posted the image because she wanted to “stand up and speak out” against the “growing hate and intolerance among the ‘tolerant’ left.”

Despite all of the backlash the photo has elicited, she said her only regret is that she “didn’t brush [her] hair or wear makeup.”
