Supreme Court pillars SC Congressman seeks to overturn Citizens United

WASHINGTON — A Democratic Minnesota congressman is introducing a constitutional amendment designed to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision in the Citizens United case that lifted many restrictions on corporate spending in political elections.

Rep. Rick Nolan unveiled the proposal on Monday along with members of Move to Amend, a grassroots coalition that has been seeking support on the local level in communities for the amendment. They say political campaign spending should not be a form of speech protected under the First Amendment.

  1. As always, comrade Cheney is terribly confused on issues charged to the US Congress.
    Decision making is not the same as autocratically inventing laws and implementing them via unconstitutional, executive decree.
    However, he is well informed and well practiced on looking out for no. 1´s ass.
    He was the first politico into his designated “dugout” that morning, before the events of 9-11 had begun. Of course, no one had any prior knowledge of the 9-11 events.
    That is, no one outside of the participant circle.
