Talk About Breaking News: New York Times Isn’t Liberal, Washington Post Not Biased

Recent weeks have seen ombudsmen at both the New York Times and the Washington Post defend their respective newspapers from charges of journalistic bias and a deep-seated, enduring slant to the political left. Defined as “trusted [intermediaries] between…an organization and some…external constituency,” it is the job of New York Times ombudsman Arthur Brisbane and the Post’s Patrick Pexton to represent “the broad scope of constituent interests” by seeking to present readers with facts and straightforward, impartial reporting.
Of course, anyone with a sense of humor—or any sense at all—will get a real kick out of claims of straightforward and impartial reporting by the Times or the Post. But that is exactly what these embattled colleagues have done in their attempts to defend recent articles responsible for more than the usual show of outrage from the reading public.
On May 10th, the Post printed a story of Mitt Romney’s 1965 involvement in forcibly cutting the hair of fellow Cranbrook student John Lauber. According to the very lengthy article, Romney and a number of friends threw Lauber to the ground and submitted him to a cruel and “vicious hack job.” Of course, Lauber also turned out to be gay. A remarkable coincidence of timing considering Obama’s sudden act of “coming out” in support of gay marriage. As the Post tells it though, these things “… just happened to coincide…”
However, as PJ Media points out, “…the story directly quoted a dead man; it claimed things about him that, being dead, he is in no position to affirm or refute; it mischaracterized the opinion of one of its core witnesses; and the family of the dead man (Lauber) says the story is factually inaccurate.”
The Post’s Pexton responds to such criticism from conservative web sites and large numbers of readers with: “The Mitt Romney bullying story holds up to scrutiny,” even as he defends as quite innocent timing clearly designed to assist the President.
The New York Times’ unintentional foray into slapstick involves the newspaper’s April 21st laugher “A Hard Look at the President.” Not only has Pinch’s family publication never come close to doing what the title suggests; Ombudsman Arthur Brisbane actually hopes to reassure readers skeptical of the Time’s intentions by stating “The warm afterglow of Mr. Obama’s election, the collateral effects of liberal-minded feature writers—these can be overcome by hard-nosed, unbiased political reporting now.”
Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey responds to this extraordinary statement beautifully, with “One can imagine Lucy telling Charlie Brown much the same thing right before pulling the football away for the 50th year in a row.”
It is hardly a secret that the New York Times and Washington Post literally act as willing and dutiful publicity arms of the Democrat Party and the Obama Regime. What is interesting is the sudden concern exhibited by these publications about the way in which they are viewed by their readers. Expressed public outrage has done little to stir corporate ombudsmen from decades of smug slumber in the past. So why now? Is it possible that these important media allies of the President realize that their guy is in desperate trouble and must therefore respond to and deny any potentially harmful accusations of bias and intrigue?
It might be very instructive to see if it becomes commonplace for the media to defend its journalistic integrity over the coming months.

Will Obama Attempt To Declare Martial Law Before November Election?

Canada Free Press contributor Doug Hagmann has reported that a longtime friend and Department of Homeland Security official revealed to him “…the uppermost echelon of the DHS is actively preparing for massive social unrest inside the United States,” and not only “…expecting and preparing for it, they are actually facilitating it.”
According to Hagmann’s DHS source, the Obama Regime—which initiates Department agenda and dominates its thinking—will proceed by implementing “economic chaos, chaos through racial division and chaos through class division, all joined by Barack Hussein Obama and his stable of unelected czars.”
For three years, the Administration has worked to destroy the private sector and destabilize the value of the dollar. It has injected race and class into every argument, setting the stage for “summer riots” organized by Regime operatives. And when economic calamity and civil unrest are at their zenith, “…a false flag event against Obama or his family, something that will outrage ‘black America’ ” will be crafted, its purpose, to “…evoke the ugliest of reactions and create racial chaos in this country that will make the Watts riots, 1968 and the Rodney King riots pale in comparison.”
At this juncture, the federal government will be “forced” to take a hand for the well-being of the nation and the American public, of course. Martial law will be declared by an appropriately “reluctant” Barack Obama, who will offer a television persona clearly dis-inclined to the exercise of such staggering authority. Naturally, he will promise the duration of his absolute power to be brief and its use, strictly and fairly measured. The 2012 election will–for the purposes of fairness and equity—be indefinitely postponed.
Although claims in the Canada Free Press article sound very much like the ravings of “tin foil hat”-wearing conspiracy theorists, it should be remembered who the enemy is, the extraordinary sweep and authority they have already attained, and the arrogance and lust for power that drives them.
These are people brazen and lawless enough to have placed a Manchurian Candidate in the White House. From politicians to journalists to judges, they have threatened into silence or collaboration any with the slightest inclination or ability to stand in their way. They have near-total ownership of the national media, a vitally important accomplishment in any plan to overthrow a government. They have absolute authority over the executive branch, giving them the ability to not only implement (or ignore) law and enforce it, but also the means and power to punish those who stand in their way. For only the executive has the ability to enforce its will as it is the only branch of government with armed troops and therefore the power of arrest and detention.
In short, nothing can be put past this group and, as a result, little can be considered too far from the realm of possibility.
It’s true that Americans are the most widely armed people in the world. But consider the indignities we have already endured and the way in which we have meekly surrendered liberty in the past. Why should anyone expect sudden bravery from a public that has exhibited little but sheepish submission over the past 5 decades?
Conspiracy theories or not, it will be a very interesting and potentially very dangerous campaign season.
Why Obama Won’t Be Able To Hide Behind The 10th Amendment On Gay “Marriage”

One hundred and sixty years ago, Democrats picked up guns and attempted to violently overthrow our government in the name of “States’ Rights.” They LOVED the 10th Amendment then because it suited their aim of keeping black people in chains. More recently, they have HATED the 10th Amendment that says, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people” when it has been cited by conservatives as grounds for various states to allow their citizens to refuse to be forced to buy individual health care insurance policies.
They HATE the 10th Amendment when Southern States argued that abortion should and could be prohibited within their borders because it is the right of a state to determine whether it will allow or prohibit abortions.
Now they LOVE the 10th Amendment because they see it as a way to run away from being forced to take a position on the question of support for gay “marriage.” “It should be up to the states,” says today’s crop of phony Democrats.
When Barack Obama made his quickly-thrown-together announcement declaring himself in favor of gay “marriage” he effectively ended any chance of reelection he might have had. His disingenuous support for states to decide the issue for themselves swung the Democrat weather vane back to LOVE for the 10thAmendment as evident from statements issued by Democrats up for reelection.
How the issue is playing
Despite liberal media talk about how “brave” Obama was to come out for gay “marriage,” the truth is that his announcement was a gift to those who want him and his Party defeated in November.
While Obama has improved to just a – 4 points against his Republican opponent – as per Rasmussen – once the issue settles in, it promises to be a deal breaker for many voters. A Gallup poll released Friday held that by a count of 26% to 13%, voters say they are less likely to vote for Obama – and by extension Democrats in general.
A 13% swing is huge – let no one say otherwise.
A net minus 13 points is a lethal number.
Hiding behind the 10th Amendment on gay “marriage” won’t help Obama get his foot out of this bucket no matter what the media says.
Obama Is Letting China Buy Our Energy Fields; Is Your State On This List?

Everybody knows that Barack Obama wants America to be energy independent; just ask him, and he’ll tell you so. What he won’t tell you is why he is standing by and watching while China is buying American oil and gas in alarming amounts. In an era that demands America use energy as wisely as possible, Obama is stopping us from searching for energy sources on our own soil, which is bad enough, but now Obama is allowing the Chinese to buy up as much of our oil and gas as they want.
Using two front corporations, the China National Offshore Oil Corporation and the State-Owned Assets Supervision as well as the Administration Commission of the State Council, the Chinese Communists have entered into a $570 million deal that gives it a third interest in an oil and gas field in Colorado and Wyoming. What’s worse is that language in the agreement has given the Chinese government the right to a third of ANY NEW oil or gas discovered in areas encompassed by this energy site.
Aside from having their tentacles in Colorado and Wyoming, other states where China has a sizable presence are as follows:
Louisiana – a $2.5 billion deal for 1/3 of a 265,000 acre energy field. China did likewise in buying a one-third share of a Michigan energy field.
The Chinese Communists have acquired a one-third share in energy producing fields in Ohio – Utica Shale field.
Oklahoma has them as well. The Chi-Coms own 1/3 of a 215,000 acre field based on a deal with Devon Energy.
In Texas, China owns 1/3 of the 600,000 acre Eagle Ford Shale energy field, and they own a small piece of the energy producing sections of the Gulf of Mexico.
What’s happening here is very obvious. The Chinese are Barack Obama’s loan shark. He can’t begin to pay them back what he has borrowed from them, so they are willing to take oil deals in partial payment. After all, he can’t give them the deed to the Grand Canyon – can he?

Boehner Is Stalling Holder Contempt Citation On Fast And Furious

If Darrell Issa has any thoughts of the full House voting on his Oversight Committee’s citation of contempt against Eric Holder, he will first have to clear the idea with the Attorney General’s staunchest allies and political defenders—Republican Speaker John Boehner, Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Republican Majority Whip, Kevin McCarthy.
Upon the Speaker’s office being provided a draft of the citation last week, a spokesman for the Republican leadership said “While there are very legitimate arguments to be made in favor of such an action, no decision has been made to move forward with one by the Speaker or by House Republican leaders.” (1)
But now it appears these stalwart souls have finally made that decision. They will “…slow [Issa’s] drive to hold the attorney general in contempt over the controversial Fast and Furious program…” for a period of “a month or even longer…” Apparently a year’s worth of testimony and documentation linking Obama Regime operatives to hundreds of deaths and the walking of some 2000 weapons across the Mexican border just haven’t been sufficient to convince Speaker Boehner that something is amiss. (2)
Republican leaders “…still don’t think the case is ‘rock solid…’ ” said an aide to Representative Issa. Of course, the fact that Attorney General Holder has refused to honor subpoenas demanding he turn over an estimated 8000 pages of Fast and Furious documentation might have something to do with Mr. Boehner’s feelings of uncertainty about adequate proof. (2)
But a far more credible reason for the Speaker’s nervous stomach is “…fear [of] negative political fallout from citing the U.S. attorney general with contempt of Congress in an election year.” Boehner, Cantor and McCarthy are “…worried about both the legal and political implications of the move, especially six months before what is already expected to be a razor-close election.” (2)
In fact, that’s the reason GOP leaders are now pressing Congressman Issa to bring Democrat House members on board. Boehner and the others believe it will reduce the political risk to Republicans if a number of Holder’s own party members are willing to make the contempt citation a bipartisan effort. And no doubt to Issa’s chagrin, that now appears to have become a prerequisite “…before [Republican leaders] let it come to the floor for a vote.” (2)
In short, John Boehner is demanding that Democrat members of the House exhibit more courage in betraying their own Party than he and other Republican leaders are themselves willing to display by holding a corrupt attorney general responsible for disobeying the law!
And why should Democrats join Republicans, either in the contempt process or in a call for Eric Holder to honor House subpoenas? After all, GOP leaders have shown no stomach for pressing the issue beyond the occasional committee hearing or threatening letter to the Department of Justice.
For 3 months, Coach is Right has warned readers about a disgraceful lack of courage on the part of John Boehner to honor his oath of office to defend the Constitution by bringing criminal charges against Eric Holder. Many have accused us of being unfair to the Speaker by inventing unsubstantiated tales of his unwillingness to take a stand.

Truth: Obama Is Probably Even Losing In Oregon

In 2008 Barack Obama won Oregon by 17 points but a new SurveyUSA poll shows he is leading by just 4 points. If that was all the bad news out of The Beaver State it would be bad enough for Obama, but the news gets worse when more realistic standards of voter sentiment are applied to data as presented.
In response to this news, the Oregonian (one of the foulest of the Democrats’ mouth piece news outlets) points to the difference between the numbers of registered Democrats/Republicans/Independents who voted in Oregon’s 2010 elections and the breakdown SurveyUSA used to put its report together.
By that measurement there are 5.6% more Democrats .05% more Republicans BUT 6.1% fewer Independents in the State, and herein lies a serious flaw in the Oregonian’s “happy face” analysis.
While Oregon was not one of the states caught up in the TEA party revolution in 2010, much has happened since then. For Oregon to have moved 13 points to the Right since 2008 something must be happening there. Arguing that 2010 Party breakdown numbers hold true today offers little comfort to those rooting for Obama because the national Party breakdown is 35 R 33D and 32 I as reported by Rasmussen. Since SurveyUSA uses only “registered” voters instead of “Likely” voters as Rasmussen does, Obama’s fans must choose which set of numbers they want to follow: Rasmussen which says Obama is down 7 points nationally or SurveyUSA which has him up in Oregon by 4 points and surveys a less reliable sampling group.
Then there is voter enthusiasm. The latest national survey of enthusiasm levels among both Democrats and Republicans done by Gallup shows that by 53/45 Republicans are more enthusiastic to vote. Those who doubt the enthusiasm gap is this large have to explain the numbers from West Virginia North Carolina and Wisconsin we saw last Tuesday. If Oregon is SO Democrat that it is immune to these national trends as the Oregonian would have us believe why has Obama lost 13 points since 2008?

Hey, Obama, Didn’t Hitler Also Want The Military To Pledge Allegiance To Him?

In August of 1934, members the Wehrmacht were required to recite a Reichswehreid, an oath of personal allegiance to Adolf Hitler. This oath ignored God and country but swore an oath to a man, Adolf Hitler. The soldiers were to fight and die on the behalf of the dear leader. Such loyalty oaths originated in ancient Rome and have been repeated throughout history and to different tyrants.

It is a rumor that Obama wishes the members of the American military would swear an oath to him over God and the Constitution. But in his narcissist mindset, he truly believes the military serves at his whim. In an ABC interview concerning his flip-flop on Gay marriage he said “when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ is gone,”
Oh Really?
Members of the US Armed Forces swear an oath to the Constitution and not to a man. They are required to follow the orders of the President and Officers according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice, but they act to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. Even orders from the President must be lawful because the men and women of the armed forces don’t serve on his behalf. The idea of service members fighting on his behalf is a Freudian slip from a narcissist that has an out of control sense of omnipotence that even Dr. Phil couldn’t miss. He is using the world’s best military to pander to the homosexuals.
Accepting responsibility? Never happened!
Obama cannot accept responsibility for anything negative. He lacks the character to accept consequences but will gladly shine in the light of success even when he had nothing to do with it. It was reported that Leon Panetta wrote a memo absolving Obama of all responsibly if the Obama raid went wrong. After all, the President was playing golf when the mission started. When the mission was successful, the Narcissist-In-Chief was more than ready to take all of the glory for sending SEAL Team Six to kill bin Laden on “his behalf” to garner votes for his reelection.
How Soviet Immigrants Made Fools Out Of Communist Democrats

The day after Barack Obama’s election, a physical therapist from the old Soviet union, who came to Staten Island to live in freedom, got a call from her best friend (a fellow Soviet immigrant who lives in the Russian section of Brooklyn.) The caller got one word out before they both started to cry for three minutes. Then the caller speaking Russian said, “We came here to escape them. Where do we go now?” Both women knew the “Them” were Communists, and both saw Democrats as no different from Communists.
To those who don’t live in either the Brooklyn or Staten Island portions of New York City, Republican Bob Turner’s victory in a special election to fill Anthony Weiner’s vacant Congressional seat is a fluke caused by public disgust at Weiner’s antics. That explanation is foolishness supported by stunned Democrats and their cheerleaders in the media. It was a result of a big Russian immigrant turnout.
A year earlier in a Congressional district comprised of Staten Island and the Russian sections of Brooklyn, Republican Michael Grimm, a political newcomer, defeated a well- financed Democrat who had the endorsement of every union in the City.
This spring, another completely unknown Republican candidate won another special election against another well-known, well-financed, and widely-endorsed Democrat.
All three of these victories were delivered by immigrants from the old Soviet Union who hate communism and see America’s Democrats as new communist threats to the liberties they have come halfway around the world to enjoy.
Using voter registration to fool Democrats
The always-suspicious-of-government Soviets don’t universally register as Republicans. Many see registering Democrat as a way to keep in the good graces of the Democrat-controlled City Council. It doesn’t stop them from voting Republican, but it fools gullible Democrats (who cannot believe there is an immigrant group they can’t buy with a few extra services) into sending more and more goodies.
In 2008, they voted in landslide proportion for John McCain and will continue voting against the Democrats they recognize as their natural enemies, the same enemies they have lots of experience dealing with. For these Soviet immigrants, the difference between life here and life there is that they can vote to fight back – they do, and they will in November.
The really fun part of this is that gullible Democrats will “help” the Democrat-registered Soviet immigrants to vote by sending cars to take them to the polls where they will promptly vote Republican!
5 Ways Obama Is A Dictator

When power is placed in the hands of a usurper like Barack Obama, all thought of accepting authority from the other branches of government as delegated by the Constitution is rejected. Three years in office, we have seen Obama use the various agencies of the executive branch to break countless federal statutes, rob states of their legislative prerogatives, and flout the authority of Congress and the courts.
Obama’s Department of Justice has actively prevented South Carolina, Arizona, Texas, and other states from implementing voter ID laws designed to prevent the widespread incidents of fraud so instrumental to the success of the Democrat Party in elections for the past 50 years. The Department has filed suit in federal court to prevent implementation of those state laws in spite of a 2008 Supreme Court ruling which found Constitutional an Indiana voter ID law whose various requirements were mirrored in the Texas and Arizona legislation.
The EPA imposed water quality rules in Florida which would have led to “…billions of dollars in compliance costs, significant spikes in utility bills and the loss of thousands of jobs.” In February, the Florida Attorney General prevailed in a lawsuit against the EPA in which the presiding judge found “…the EPA’s rules were not based on sound science…” Moreover, the judge declared the EPA had even failed to prove its scheme would prevent any harm to the environment.
Obama’s National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) threatened suit against South Carolina “for guaranteeing a secret ballot in union elections.” The NLRB eventually backed down, but then turned its attention to the Boeing Company, telling Boeing it could not relocate its plants. Once again, the Board backed down “but only after the company and the union worked through an agreement.”
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) demanded that the Hosanna Tabor Lutheran School rehire a minister discharged for her disagreement with the religious doctrines of the church. So outragious was EEOC involvement in this case that the Supreme Court UNANIMOUSLY found in favor of the School in a January 2012 ruling.
Health and Human Services mandated Jewish, Catholic, and Baptists schools and churches provide abortion services to their employees. Seven state Attorneys General have filed suit after Barack Obama made an “accommodation in name only that required insurance companies…provide the services for free…”
In the Constitution, the Founders created an overlap of authority, based on the view that “…liberty can only be effectively preserved by having not only separate branches…but also by mixing in each branch aspects of all the forms of power—legislative, executive and judicial…” The argument as to which branch—the executive or the legislative– has the final authority to declare and engage in war, for example, has especially raged in recent years.
But Barack Obama and his thuggish Regime desire the exercise of absolute control over all aspects of existence in the United States. It is anathema to this would-be dictator that authority even be shared with the people he was elected to govern, much less that all authority to govern be DERIVED of their consent. The system of federalism upon which this nation and its Constitution are based is systematically being destroyed by a Manchurian Candidate bent on absolute rule over a free people.

How Far Will Obama Go To Get Re-Elected?
What does he know?
How can he think he’ll be re-elected running against the continually expressed views and will of the American people? Not just running against the white, non-Muslim people as he has been doing, but now running against blacks, Hispanics, and even Muslims!
What about his support for wealth redistribution, which Americans reject; his support for union thugs overriding the most basic of American rights and values, the secret ballot,; his support for keeping American companies from putting Americans to work unless they allow his union thug handlers to extort forced payments to the corrupt unions ; his support for stripping the Catholic Church, and, in effect, any religious organization from conforming to the rules of their religion(s); his plea for patience from the Russians, until after he is re-elected, for him to gut our missile defense; his blatant attacks on other supposedly co-equal branches of our government, in his quest to destroy a Constitution he despises,; and his forcing of Obamacare on an unwilling American populace?
I can, and will, go on.
These are just some of the issues on which Obama diametrically opposes the American voter. What is his plan? What will help him overcome the obvious obstacles between him and freedom loving patriotic Americans?
His campaign promise to cause energy rates to “necessarily skyrocket” has caused fuel prices to at least double, and his assault on the coal industry, which supplies most of our electricity, is completely out of line for someone looking out for American interests. His administration’s blatant lies and alterations to official documents led to an unwarranted moratorium on deep-water drilling in the Gulf . We can give Brazil billions to deep-water drill, but we Americans can’t drill for our own oil.
As if that wasn’t enough to make anyone wonder how this man can expect to be re-elected, we still haven’t touched the subject of his purposeful destruction of the American capitalist system. His redistribution of wealth to the green energy scammers, mostly his friends and campaign fundraisers like Solyndra, has led to failures and bankruptcies from most of the companies to which he gave money.
It seems to me that there are a preponderance of issues President Obama supports that freedom loving Americans want no part of.
What is his plan?
Is he hoping for enough civil unrest from his personal army (SEIU, the UAW, and his foot soldiers in the Occupy movement) for him to rely on martial law and suspended elections?
What are Americans to think when the Army “accidentally” releases information regarding the treatment of freedom loving Americans pursuing happiness under the auspices and moral and ethical boundaries of the Constitution, who wind up in the Presidents re-education camps for “political activists,” and how their voices will be silenced by gags as they (WE, because I’m damn sure I’ll be there, too) are forced to do hard labor for our beliefs?
