The explanations of Major Hasan's killing spree in Fort Hood as due to "mental stress" or "Islamic jihadism" are not incompatible when one realizes that all radicals Islamists who believe and practice the Koranic admonition to kill infidels are by definition mentally deranged. It was his religion that caused the Major to go over to the dark side, not any 'mistreatment' by the US Army. "There are moderate Muslims, but there is no moderate Islam" the courageous Geert Wilders has said.

Comment: And who, pray tell, would initiate this 'backlash' General? Are you so afraid of an imaginary response that you are deliberately avoiding the REAL threat that people like Major Hasan pose? What kind of a ‘soldier’ are you, who worries more about imagined retaliation, which has never occurred, more than the documented threats which occur every day. Islamists announce their intentions to destroy us every day of the week, but you say NOTHING about their threats!
