Pro-family and religious leaders are strongly imploring leaders in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) not to cave in on the organization’s longtime policy banning homosexuals from serving as scout leaders. A BSA spokesman said that the move could come as early as the first week in February. “The policy change under discussion would allow the religious, civic, or educational organizations that oversee and deliver Scouting to determine how to address this issue,” said BSA spokesman Deron Smith in a statement. He explained that the Boy Scouts “would not, under any circumstances, dictate a position to units, members, or parents. This would mean there would no longer be any national policy regarding sexual orientation, and the chartered organizations that oversee and deliver Scouting would accept membership and select leaders consistent with each organization’s mission, principles, or religious beliefs.”
If the change occurs, it would represent an about-face to the BSA’s decision last year that, following a two-year study, it would continue with the ban on homosexual leaders that has been in place since the organization’s founding in 1910. In explaining that 2012 decision, the BSA’s chief executive officer, Bob Mazzuca, explained that the “vast majority of the parents of youth we serve value their rights to address issues of same-sex orientation within their family, with spiritual advisers, and at the appropriate time and in the right setting.”
The shocking proposed policy change also comes following the release last year of thousands of BSA files from 1965 to 1985 that revealed the organization’s unceasing battle to stop sexual predators from infiltrating the ranks of Scouting leadership in order to prey on boys.
The expected change to allow homosexuals is seen by many observers as a reaction to intense pressure that has been placed on the organization over the past several months, including the announcement by major donors UPS and Intel to pull their funding. Those companies succumbed to a pressure campaign led by former Eagle Scout Zach Wahls, founder of the pro-homosexual group Scouts for Equality. On his group’s site Wahls applauded the BSA’s proposed move as “an important step forward.” But noting that the decision on whether or not to allow gay leaders will be left in the hands of state and local Scouting programs, he complained that “discrimination — whether it’s at the national level or the local level — sends a harmful message to all youth, gay or not, and has no place in Scouting.” He promised to mount a campaign to pressure individual BSA councils to drop their prohibition of homosexual leaders.
Meanwhile, longtime members and supporters of the Boy Scouts noted that the organization’s policy barring homosexuals has always been closely connected to its official Boy Scout Oath, which requires that the conduct of the group’s members — as well as its leaders — remain “morally straight.” In 2000, the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed that the Boy Scouts of America was within its rights to maintain its proscription against homosexual Scout leaders. The High Court noted that enforcing traditional moral values was crucial to the organization’s “expressive message,” and to compel it to include homosexual leaders would violate its longtime values. Writing for the 5-4 majority in the case, Chief Justice William Rehnquist explained: “Forcing a group to accept certain members may impair the ability of the group to express those views and only those views, it intends to express.”

Being the Boy Scouts are thinking about allowing queers in their midst shows just how far into the cess pool this country has sunk!
Most old gays`prefer young men or older teenagers to play with. So gays in the boy scouts is a no-no in my book.
Yep, EVIL is alive and well in the USA from the WH to the Homosexual houses and they will not STOP until the LORD comes back.
What a discussing and disgraceful decision this will be should they bow under the pressure of those that embrace this abomination against God’s WORD. This however doesn’t surprise me anymore, I have noticed our once God fearing nation spiraling out of control since the passing of Roe vs. Wade. Now with the demoralization of many faith based organizations that have bowed to the pressure of the ungodly, we even have ministers of the Gospel who claim to be gay or who marries the gay but their gospel is of the world and not that of God’s.
Boy Scouts of America you can forever remove my name as a supporter if you yield to this worldly pressure.
I agree, if the Boy Scouts give in to this diabolical scheme, I WILL NOT support them or any of their donors and I will tell my family and friends to do the same.
I predict that if the queers are allowed, the boy scouts will lose members like wildfire……plus donations.

Point is, the BSA is a private organization and should therefore be allowed to discriminate against whoever it wants regarding membership. And the homosexual lobby (not necessarily all gays) should feel free to start their own program. No one’s stopping them, nor should they be stopped.
They could start their own Gay boy & Girl ASSociation BUT that is not on their Agenda they would rather Infiltrate our BSA and spread / Spew their EVIL Perverted Lifestyle. I will continue to speak out against Evil and not just let them have a Free path to further their Junk.
Every American institution is being infiltrated by the vile, disgusting gay advocates. Leave the Boy Scouts alone, already! Gays don’t belong in the Boy Scouts anymore than a woman belongs in NFL football.
If there are boy scout leaders who are gay and boys scouts themselves… why dont they form their own group? Next thing you know.. it will be the lesbians who want to join the Girl Scouts. What next?
I agree, let the Gays /Homosexuals start their own clubs/ groups, BUT that is not their agenda. They have to FORCE their EVIL Lifestyle on us to be Normal. I have to comment on this again… where I worked there was this girl who was so gung ho on this guy.. she was wild about him….. both straight —- guys were all she thought about… But she and a group including (about 4 girls and 1 gay guy)… started hanging around together… they would go to bars.. now I dont know if they were gay bars or not… but later one of the straight kids told me.. this girl who LOVED this straight guy… started loving girls now… This is no joke… so maybe that…. ‘ you become the company you keep’… dunno… can a person change like that? So this might be what the boyscouts are afraid of… that some gay guy will entice some straight boy to start being gay..Is that possible?

I will not support the Boys Scouts if they give into this! And I know many will follow thru. Many gays are good people but most if not all are in Denial – to the point to call themselves ‘Christian gays’ Its ridiculous. They are overly encourage now by schools a this culture to keep at it and spread. The agenda is clear, our leaders ( world leaders ) want a new world order but they can’t get there with Spiritual People (Christians ) or free market economies / America the Free ( Patriots ). That’s why the war on us! in all fronts.

Don’t get me wrong, I am against same sex marriage but what is the rationale of preventing homosexuals from being scout leaders. We allow women t be Boy Scout leaders. Wit all the cases of women having sex with undrage boys, perhaps we should ban the. Statistically, homosexuals are not pedophiles, so what is your rationale for banning them from the BSA except pure bigotry?
And no, I am not a homosexual, I am a veteran, a Christian, I have 2 sons who are Eagle Scouts and I am active as a committee member in our troop.

The Bible is not the Constitution. Christianity has and will play a huge role in this country’s identity, but it is not the governing force. Gays, as individual citizens, are entitled to the same rights as anyone else. You have the right to dislike/disagree with them, but that is the extent of your right. As to the issue at hand, I agree that the BSA, as a private entity, should have the right to be selective about their membership. I think that mentality is a little out of date, but it is their right, nonetheless.
I was a boy scout back in the early 70s and I’d rather there being gay leaders then the so called christian child molesters that are boy scout leaders like are leading them now. After all didn’t the BSA just pay out Millions of dollars to the families of boys that had been molested by their scout leaders? I’d feel safer knowing my son was with a gay leader than with a child molester.
