This report makes me happy my parents sent me every summer to my Grandparents farm. Another title to this report could have been: “Cities make kids sick.” A little dirt never hurt anyone.

Could it be that not just the animals they are around, but the fact that they grow and raise what they eat, so they know what’s in the food they consume? Cleaner air. And these kids work and play, pretty hard, so they stay busy and fit. It’s a less complicated lifestyle, as well, so less stress on their immune systems. Maybe this is the reason Jefferson promoted an agragarian society?
I feel those kids who’re little ‘ farmers’ are around all sorts of germs thus become immune to them! It would be like nurses who are around people with colds, flu, and such become immune to certain things as well. Rarely ever do you see a Dr. or a nurse sick…. and I doubt if they are constantly giving themselves shots.
