Under Chicago’s Police Chief Gary McCarthy and the hack that hired him, Chicago has quickly become Murder City USA. Last year by a substantial amount, more Americans died from gunfire in the Windy City than died in Afghanistan. The gunfire is coming from the violent street gangs that infect the streets of Chicago.
Since they have failed to solve the real problem of gunfire killing people in their streets, the current administration has invented a problem their media pals can fool the dupes that vote for them into thinking they are solving. Their invented problem is: what to do about “dangerous” people who are licensed gun owners?
Since their constituency of public housing dwellers doesn’t count when they complain, honest licensed gun owners who can put a spotlight on their failure to make the streets safe must be targeted and shut up. Last week McCarthy publicly warned licensed gun owners his officers would shoot them if they: “[turn] with a firearm in their hand” at the scene of a police involved incident.
Parroting the liberal lies about licensed gun owners always make things worse when they attempt to use their gun to defend themselves or others, McCarthy said: “I don’t care if they’re licensed legal firearms, people who are not highly trained… putting guns in their hands is a recipe for disaster. So I’ll train our officers that there is a concealed carry law, but when somebody turns with a firearm in their hand the officer does not have an obligation to wait to get shot to return fire and we’re going to have tragedies as a result of that. I’m telling you right up front.”
McCarthy and his boss must have realized that kissing up to street gangs to get them to stop shooting people doesn’t work. With no other options they are now threatening honest citizens licensed to possess and use firearms to save their own lives. Can confiscation be far off?

The cops themselves admit that a 30-30 round will penetrate. I’ve seen some conflicting info but 170 grains of jacketed lead moving at 2700fps will go through. There are newer types employing ceramic plates that will defeat some rifle rounds but honestly it has advanced faster than I’ve kept up.
Standard under-the-shirt body armor will defeat thrusting weapons and pistol bullets which is what cops will usually come up against. Frankly I pray that I never have to find out for myself.
In rhode island about 5-6 years ago we had an off duty police officer in Providence (he was a providence officer) got shot because the responding providence officers did not identify him. He was shot dead. Wait till mccarthy has one of his officers shot dead by another officer. I hope the blame falls on him.

Where I live our cc law requires (as does common sense), that you put your weapon down when the police arrive, raise your hands and identify yourself. It makes sense that you would not want to be mistaken for one of the bad guys, and an officer arriving at the scene would, of course, be justified in defending themselves against anyone who is armed. Not defending anyone, but, the above is what the Sheriff DID say…… I think it’s obvious that what he’s saying is if officers are called out to a crime in progress, and any non-cop turns around with a firearm, they are fair game. I’ll tell you what, if it was me and someone I didn’t know turned towards me with a weapon, I will be the one going home that day !!! The sheriff was NOT making a blanket statement that he’s gonna kill “Licenses Gun Owners”. Once again, it’s in the “Journals” way of writing…being the fear mongering, rumor generators they are.

That goes against everything I was taught at C.L.E.E.T.. If there is not a direct threat to your life, or the life of another then you do not have justification to use deadly force. Yeah, I know, cops only have a second to make a life or death situation. Been there done that. And we are trained to make those split second decisions. We aren’t trained to shoot anytime you see a weapon.
If the person turns around and points the gun towards you, or you observe that the person is moving or raising the weapon, so as to indicate the intent to do harm with the gun, then yes you can use deadly force.
Simply observing a person holding a weapon in a non-threatening manner does not justify the use of deadly force anywhere in the U.S. The use of deadly force must meet the standards outlined in the U.S. Constitution.
The scenario this bozo gives is that if anyone not in police uniform has a weapon doing anything or nothing with it, the cops are justified to use deadly force, every time. And that is DEAD WRONG!

I believe the sheriff (hopefully) is a bit more professional in his actual, distributed order….. He obviously does forsee some big problems with the CC Law…. but hopefully it doesn’t wind out like that……. (out here in Wyoming, most folks have weapons pretty close all the time….)

If you have a weapon in your hand when one of his boys shows up, and you turn around, he won’t do a damned thing, to them when you get blown away, because you had a weapon.
