MSNBC’s Chris Matthews gladly played the GOP 2012 guessing game at Thursday’s Q&A Cafe at the Georgetown Ritz-Carlton, suggesting two popular Republicans might want to trim their waistlines before jumping into the presidential race.
“Chris Christie is moon over New Jersey, he should not wear white shirts, I tell you that,” Matthews said. “I saw him the other day and I was amazed by it, he must be 300 plus, and that’s something he’s just gotta deal with because you’re not going to say, ‘I’m going to cut the budget,’ well, how about starting with supper?”
That’s the sort of received wisdom that’s popular with political analysts but I wonder how true it is anymore. The cookie-cutter image of the tall, fit, white, male president has been shattered, not just because of Obama but because his chief rivals for the presidency in both parties are women. If the public’s ready to accept a black president and a woman president, I think they’re ready for a husky one — especially when he has a reputation for trimming budgetary, er, fat.
I’m not sure how I feel about the “racism with a scale” concept, though. But the crack about Matthews using hair dye? Magnifique.

I can't stand Chris Matthews. I've had a yo-yo weight problem all my life and phooey I'm 67 now and smart as a horse and horny as Einstein. I've stable blood pressure,no heart problems,am minus an arm from a car wreck,just had a knee replacement.and smell good. I'm 6'2" wear XX shirts and size 46 pants. I weigh in at a slim trim 300 lbs. I don't look as big as Chris Christie because of big bones and a big frame. Everybody carries weight differently. Probably never occured to Matthews that Christie may have a genetic problem moreso than just eating in excess. Big deal that Christie is a big dude.
The man's doing a great job and Matthews is just jealous because he can't get his own IQ above 2.

Jan, I agree whole heartedly with you. Chris Christie has a brain that works and the balls to do the right thing. I got a real kick out of the way he put the trachers union in it's place. Tenure after "teaching" for ten years is a farce. Really good teachers are few and far between. After 20 years of education I graduated from McGill Univ. Medical school. I supposed I had at least 100
"teachers" but when I count the good teachers I had I don't have to use all my fingers. I'd say I had eight teachers that I could have sat all day and listened nad learned.

Several weeks ago I posted that Obama wanted to control the Internet and probably inforce a "fairness
doctrine". All the liberals thought I was crazy. Well what I predicted is about to happen. Your broadband time will soon be limited. I see any federal involvement in the Internet as an invasion of my right to free speech. Obama is a control freak and will not be happy until he controls your entire life in all aspects. If he isn't impeached and, god forbid, gets a second term, bend over and grab your ankles and prepare to get raped!

The Dream bill is DEAD and the Ominous bill with a large bunch of earmarks also died. The truth about earmarks is that the Congressman is sending our tax money back to his district so the voters there will re-elect him to the best "job" in America with the most obnoxious retirement benefit of any job. Fully vested after one term and when he or she dies the spouse draws it until death. They don't care that with their help there was no COLA this nor next year. Social Security was supposed to be okay until 2017 but now is BROKE do in part to giving illegals money from Social Security: also from
Congress taking $20,000,000 to buy themselves electronic devices to "protect them from idenity theft.
If I wasn't so old I would consider running for a Cogressional seat.
That means illegal aliens have no inheritance to pay inheritance taxes on. It is Sunday and not much to talk about. At least this lame duck Congress didn't enact any trillion dollar
bills today. Our national debt, including the unfinded liabilities is now $250.52 trillion. I believe that is more than everything in America is worth. When will Obama and the Marxists admit that America is BANKRUPT. We have reached the point that all we can say to our debtors is SORRY. I know nothing
about how the bankruptcy laws apply to nations. I'm aure Obama will not be able to usurp them like he did with the GM bankruptcy. We must keep Obama and Congress from enacting a Value Added Tax. That and the inflation caused by the printing of money backed by NOTHING would make paupers
of all of us and many generations to come.

I just saw Barney Frank alias "the dancing queen", on Fox News talking about the inheirtance. He would be in favor of a very high perhaps total tax. He has no idea or doesn't care wht this would do to farm families. The heirs would have to sell the land to pay the taxes. I was raised a "farmboy" and had no desire to be a farmer. My brother farmed until he died. Fortunately none of the land had to be sold
to pay the inheirtance tax and is still being farmed by a family friend. Barney raised a ruckus about the bonuses that corporate CEO's get but never said a word about his "companion" who ran Fannie Mae
getting a $1,000,000 bonus when he left that "job". I guess it makes a difference whose gander is getting goosed.

Obama is still pushing for amnesty and citizenship for all the Mexican illegals in America. He has finally realized that his Marxist agenda is extremely repugnant to most Americans. Obama has proved he can do a few things pretty well. He has proven he can hide personal information,take exspensive trips to India and Copenhagen and accomplish nothing in either place. He also has proven he can play golf, basketball, and take vacations and send his wife on costly vacations. On the negative side he has proven he is an economic idiot, doesn't like our Constitution and tramples it frequently. He also spends our tax dollars wastefully and knows nothing about creating jobs other than in the government. Also he knows nothing about how to clean up oil spills that he caused by giving the drilling contract to a company with the worst safety record of all drillers.
He still believes in global warming in spite of it being debunked. All of this and he wants a second
term. All I can say about that is "BAD luck to you Obama".

Inflation is not 1.8% like we are told, it is much closer to 8.5%. Even McDonald's have raised their prices. The billions spent for the stimuli has not stopped the bleeding of private sector jobs, but there are 3,000,000 more government employees that are paid, including benefits, about $176,000 per year. Similar private sector employees are paid about $67,000 per year. the Feds borrow 40% of every dollar they spend. Obama wants to convert your IRA and 401K into an annuity—your money would be invested in US
treasury bonds that nobody else will buy. In fact a large bond hedge fund just "dumped" all the US bonds it owned.
Obama WANTS to break the bank. Get him out or he will. It is his agenda to destroy this country. Top down; bottom up; inside out with confusion, strife, divisiveness, and plunder.
