Concentration Camps, Abortion Clinics, And Selective Ignorance

abortion is murder Concentration Camps, Abortion Clinics, and Selective Ignorance

On a cold and snowy day in January a few years ago, I took a guided tour through the Dachau Concentration Camp in Germany. Charcoal-colored skies paired with a ground blanketed in freshly fallen snow offered a monochromatic glimpse of what life must have been like every day for the tortured residents of that hellish camp. By tour’s end, I decided that even if I had visited on a sunny day in June, it still would have felt like January in my soul.

Afterward, I met some friends for a burger at an oddly place, a beer-serving McDonald’s Cafe restaurant just across the road from Dachau. I ordered but couldn’t eat much. It felt wrong, sacrilegious even. Looking around the cafe that day at all the people scarfing down their food seemingly unaware Dachau was across the road brought to mind the story my tour guide told about those who lived nearby who went about their daily lives, later claiming they were unaware of the atrocities taking place, despite the sounds, sights, and putrid odors just a stone’s throw away.

This blonde journalist included, all humans have a propensity for that kind of selective ignorance, which shelters us from pain or personal responsibility. How easy it is to be convinced that a homeless person or wandering dog doesn’t need our assistance; someone else will help. Or, maybe something sinister is happening next door, but we don’t want to get involved, like what investigators found to have happened at the Women’s Medical Society abortion clinic in West Philadelphia.

Only God knows why it took so long for the abortion clinic’s owner, Kermit Gosnell, to be charged with murder. Besides the Third World conditions at this clinic likened to a serial killer house of horror, FBI investigators discovered a vast collection of hewed babies’ feet and other parts dispersed in plastic bags, juice cartons, and containers.

By the time I finished reading the more than 260-page grand jury investigation, I was overcome by nausea, much like I felt at Dachau. If you are up for it, you can read it online. Prepare to be sickened.

The report states: “This case is about a doctor who killed babies and endangered women. What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable, babies in the third trimester of pregnancy — and then murdered these babies by severing their spinal cords with scissors. The medical practice by which he carried out his business was a filthy fraud in which he overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels — and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths.”

One former employee’s account claims the doctor joked about the large size of one of the children he allegedly snipped to death.

So why’d he do it? Gosnell, an African American, claims it was his way of giving back to his community. Seems it was more about money, allegedly pocketing millions of dollars, primarily from poor minority girls and women. Nonetheless, and really to no surprise, his attorney is playing the race card, accusing officials of “an elitist, racist prosecution.”

There were many opportunities to expose this death factory; but, sadly, no one did. The chilling grand jury investigation stated, “Over the years, many people came to know that something was going on here. But no one put a stop to it….”

Why? While no one can speak for those involved, one thing is for sure. The “nothing to see here” mentality is as dangerous today as it was during the Holocaust. We have a culture full of conscience-seared Americans who devalue human life to the point that the whimpers of slaughtered children on abortion tables in Philadelphia are muffled out by the selfish cries of those demanding “convenience” and “choice,” and ignored by others so self-absorbed, they believe their selective ignorance exempts them from responsibility.

Roe V. Wade And Dred Scott Are “Twin Bookends Of Evil”

Matt Barber says that Roe v. Wade is no different than the Dred Scott decision and that the two represent “twin bookends of evil.”

‘Marriage Equality’ Spells ‘Marriage Extinction’

Gay Marriage SC ‘Marriage Equality’ Spells ‘Marriage Extinction’

This week, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on two of the most critical cases of our time. On Tuesday, March 26, attorneys will make the pitch both for and against California’s Proposition 8. This, of course, is the Golden State’s pro-marriage amendment. It maintained the timeless definition of natural marriage as between man and wife.

Then, on Wednesday, March 27, the high court will consider the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), passed in 1996 with overwhelming bipartisan support and signed into law by then-President Bill Clinton. It, likewise, secured the definition of legitimate marriage for purposes of federal law.

Although both cases certainly address a multitude of legal and political issues, they also involve a number of moral and cultural considerations that, if wrongly decided, will literally shake Western civilization to the core.

The stakes could not be higher. Of central concern is whether the Supreme Court will put its official stamp of approval on that cartoonish contradiction-in-terms labeled “same-sex marriage.” Ultimately, these nine justices will decide either to recklessly deconstruct, radically redefine, and render functionally trivial the age-old institution of natural marriage – or leave it alone.

They’d better leave it alone.

Here’s the bottom line: Homosexual activists don’t want the white picket fence. They want to burn down the white picket fence. The endgame is not to achieve so-called “marriage equality,” but, rather, to render marriage reality meaningless.

In a recent column headlined “The Revolt of Intelligence Against ‘Marriage Equality,” worldview expert Rick Pearcey addressed one prominent “gay” activist’s admission that the destruction of natural marriage signifies the left’s ultimate cultural coup de grâce.

“Masha Gessen, a lesbian and a journalist, spoke frankly about this at a conference in Sydney, Australia,” he wrote. “‘It’s a no-brainer that we should have the right to marry,’ she said. ‘But I also think equally that it’s a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist. … ‘Marriage equality’ becomes ‘marriage elasticity,’ with the ultimate goal of ‘marriage extinction.’”

Still, if counterfeit “same-sex marriage” becomes the law of the land, then a whole lot more freaky deaky will follow before marriage extinction inevitably occurs.

One of liberals’ favorite Alinskyite defense mechanisms is to ridicule the opposition if confronted with some irrefutable argument against some hallowed left-wing delusion. Such is the tactic employed whenever a thinking person walks into the room and points out this big ‘ol gay elephant: Once the government pretends that some vague combination of “love” and “consent” are all that a “marriage” requires, then other “arbitrary” and “discriminatory” parameters beyond a binary male-female prerequisite must also go poof.

That is to say, if the Court magically divines some constitutional right to “same-sex marriage,” then full “marriage equality” necessarily demands that polygamous, incestuous, and any other equally aberrant nuptial cocktail be likewise permitted.

It’s a “no-brainer,” right?

To that end, I’m very concerned with the Supreme Court’s recent history of radically redefining that which cannot be redefined. Though examples abound, I’m thinking specifically, as concerns the topic at hand, of the Court’s 2003 holding in Lawrence v. Texas.

In Lawrence, the liberal majority, for the first time in history, radically redefined male-on-male sodomy – hitherto classified “a crime against nature” – as a “constitutional right.”

In his characteristically brilliant dissent, Justice Antonin Scalia voiced my concerns better than I can: “State laws against bigamy, same-sex marriage, adult incest, prostitution, masturbation, adultery, fornication, bestiality, and obscenity are likewise sustainable only in light of Bowers’ validation of laws based on moral choices,” he wrote. “Every single one of these laws is called into question by today’s decision.”

So, if the high court removes one natural marriage parameter for one special-interest group, then “equal protection under the law” requires that it remove all natural marriage parameters for all special-interest groups.

Liberty Counsel made these very points in a friend-of-the-court brief filed with the Supreme Court: “Ultimately, there is no principled basis for recognizing a legality of same-sex marriage without simultaneously providing a basis for the legality of consensual polygamy or certain adult incestuous relationships,” noted the brief. “In fact, every argument for same-sex marriage is an argument for them as well.”

Another brief filed by 18 state attorneys general voiced similar concerns: “Once the natural limits that inhere in the relationship between a man and a woman can no longer sustain the definition of marriage, the conclusion that follows is that any grouping of adults would have an equal claim to marriage,” they wrote.

The brief further observed the self-evident “no-brainer” that legitimate marriage is “optimal for children and society at large.”

It’s all very simple. If anything is marriage, then everything is marriage. And if everything is marriage, then nothing is marriage at all. “‘Marriage equality’ becomes ‘marriage elasticity,’ with the ultimate goal of ‘marriage extinction.’”

I sincerely hope that the honorable and learned men and women who sit on the highest bench in the land recognize that all of these San Francisco-style social-engineering games are a deceptive means to a destructive end. And it’s not the emotionalist end they’ve dolled-up and dished out. The left’s fierce push for “gay marriage” has nothing to do with “marriage equality” and everything to do with “marriage extinction.”

Or, as Ms. Gessen candidly put it: “[I]t’s a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist.”

I just pray that at least five justices still think it should.

Dr. Ben Carson Dissed By MSNBC Lefty

No good Black conservative ever goes unharmed; feast your eyes on this video vignette from liberal hatchet man Toure, about Dr. Ben Carson:

Toure repeatedly charged Republicans with “not caring” about Black folks??? Hmmm, I didn’t know that I as an American Black needed White people to “care ” about me.

Does that mean that White Democrats, whose polices destroyed the Black family unit and inflated street thuggery, “care” more about me?

This is what I call the “Care Gap,” where Black liberals invoke how much more their White folks like Negroes than evil old White conservatives.

In their eyes, White Democrats are good masters who pull us to their heaving bosoms and provide programs making our miserable lot as children of a lesser god more tolerable.

I would tell Toure where he could shove this type of silly reasoning, but I write for rated G audiences.

Suffice it to say, the Care Gap argument rudely deployed against Dr. Ben Carson means the good doctor’s tenure as a Black history figure liberals pointed to with pride is over.

Toure’s diss (to use an Old School ’80s phrase) of Dr. Carson means Black liberals have gotten marching orders to ethnically excommunicate someone they revered a short time ago.

Don’t let socialists somewhere in the bowels of the DNC tell you which Black people you can like.

THAT’S being an Uncle Tom for Democrats, and Toure and others should know better.

Mourn And Celebrate

US Flag 3 SC Mourn and celebrate

We mourn our country.  This society is so desperately ill, so sick and so sad, it feels like a death watch, making funeral plans.  Even a trip to the grocery delivers a view to the slog of the disoriented and disheveled.

It’s not just the state of the country, but the state of the world.

Gruesome executions by the state in Arabia and by criminals in Mexico out-terrorize the heinous event at Sandy Hook. Be-headings of school girls in Indonesia and Sri Lanka appear commonplace with so many others worldwide these last 15 years.

And then there are the 55 million Americans who never saw the light of day, a mother’s smile, or a father’s embrace.

The misery of the world increases daily: 70,000 slaughtered here, many thousands more there, children neglected and abused, women mutilated, and boys sodomized. The likelihood of global war is a growing probability on a number of fronts.  Restraint is as rare as common courtesy.

In the middle of all this murder and mayhem, what is the top issue for the talking heads on the major networks on Sunday morning?

  • Homosexual marriage.
  • The state of the Republican Party.
  • Erotic romance novels.
  • Exercise.
  • Rap music.
  • Chic atheism.

There are so many important topics to address, but those who control the message choose sideshows and pablum.  They smile and deliver their lines as if spontaneous, occasionally revealing deep arrogance behind the façade of gracious concern.

As celebrities lose their grip, lashing out and condemning anyone holding opposing views, heads of state appear wobbly, and others press for control at all costs.  There is a general sense things are becoming unraveled, and no one can do a thing about it.

Through it all, there is One who has all power.  He reigns as always from the seat of justice, love, mercy, and compassion.  His love is so great He willingly sacrificed Himself for us.  His grinding torment and humiliation finally ended when His great heart burst under the burden of sin and separation, His crowning joy the resurrection of all things as they were meant to be.

The next time you despair, remember His words and accept His invitation to eternal life.

“Fear not.  For I am with you, even to the end of the age.”

Newt Nails It

Newt Gingrich speech 4 SC Newt Nails It

Back in January, I wrote a column for Townhall.com expressing my disappointment that Newt Gingrich appeared to be waving the white flag in defense of marriage.

This time, I come not to bury the former House Speaker but to praise him. In the wake of Senator Rob Portman deciding his son’s thoughts on sexuality are more important than God’s, Gingrich was one of several Republican standard-bearers asked to comment on the issue of marriage by the mainstream media.

And in an interview on CNN, Gingrich gave about the best answer a politician in his position possibly could:

“Well, my stance (on marriage) hasn’t evolved. I believe as the Bible teaches, marriage is between a man and woman. I actually think that marriage is between a man and a woman no matter what politicians decide. I don’t think they have the power to change what is a religiously inspired definition. I’m not going to second guess Rob Portman. He’s an old personal friend. I think when you have somebody in your immediate family who comes out, you have three choices: You can say, ‘I believe my principles so much, I’m kicking you out.’ You can say, ‘I still believe in my principles, but I love you.’ Or you can say, ‘Gee, I love you so much I’m changing my principles.’ Rob picked the third path. That’s his prerogative. I’m not going to second guess him. But I would also say that historically in the long run, marriage will be between man and woman, that’s been the definition for thousands of years and I don’t think politicians will change that.”

Gingrich may be Catholic, but this is an answer that even the Protestant reformer Martin Luther would’ve been proud of because this is grace and law at its finest. The fact it came in less 300 words to a culture with a short attention span is a bonus. Gingrich’s approach to this question in this particular interview is one that should be emulated by conservatives who will be forced to follow in his footsteps.

First, Gingrich clearly asserts the standard, and where the standard comes from. Instead of falling into the trap of using politically-correct terminology like “traditional marriage” Gingrich simply calls marriage what it is—“marriage.” If we didn’t already have a definition for marriage, we wouldn’t have to argue over redefining it, so why do those who accept the proper definition preemptively volunteer to redefine it themselves? Gingrich also calls upon the Word of God as where he gets that understanding from. For too long, we have been gun shy about doing this. The Word of God is sharper than any double-edged sword, and it’s the best weapon we have. So why would we mothball it? Imagine a general who had a weapon at his disposal to devastate his enemy, but he chose not to use it in battle because it would offend his adversary. What kind of general would do that? Answer: a very bad one. Gingrich calls upon the Bible as the source of his belief and does so in a way that doesn’t regurgitate “Christianese” but simply repeats reality: the Word of God created marriage and defines it.

Next, Gingrich refers to the highest law, or what our Founders referred to as “the laws of Nature and Nature’s God.” He points out that no matter what politicians say, they can’t change the definition of marriage anymore than they can change the definition of gravity. The natural law was here before they got here, and it will be there after they’re ashes to ashes and dust to dust. Again, for too long, we’ve fallen into the Left’s trap by assuming things are defined by our opposition and not by the ultimate reality—what the Creator says.

Thirdly, Gingrich introduces grace and mercy into the conversation by refusing to personally condemn Portman but instead empathizing with him under these extraordinary and difficult circumstances. Regardless of how wrong Portman and his son are, they are still created in God’s image and are deserving of the dignity that goes along with it. Instead, Gingrich correctly points out the three options we have when faced with an emotional challenge to truth. Besides, had Gingrich condemned or affirmed Portman, that would’ve been the story and not the greater point he was trying to make, which he repeats.

And that greater point Gingrich repeats is that marriage is the purview of Almighty God alone, and thus it cannot change because He does not. Therefore, His standard will remain in effect for eternity because He is God and we are not. This explains why when we align our ethics and laws with His, we are blessed; and when we don’t, we are not. That also explains why many of the exact same people who put us over $16 trillion in debt are the same people who magically believe they can redefine marriage.

There are some emerging conservative future stars that have given less-than-inspiring answers on this vital issue as of late. They would be wise to learn from their elder here.
