You can tell the liberals are really sweating the politics of the debt-ceiling talks when NBC puts on a special “Dateline NBC” devoted to politics. This is normally a time slot devoted to “news” topics like Casey Anthony or Lindsay Lohan. But last week, viewers were “treated” to anchorman Brian Williams actually covering a real news topic. It’s just too bad he forgot he was supposed to be a reporter, not an editorialist spinning furiously against conservatives trying to rein in President Obama’s incredibly reckless flood of new spending.
The last time Brian Williams showed up in primetime for a splashy special on public policy was an enormous tribute to the then new president, Barack Obama. The special showed Williams making a run for hamburgers with Obama, hailing how he displayed apples everywhere, and bowing to him and wishing him a pleasant evening after NBC chronicled his glorious day of saving America from recession. You know, just like Williams treated Bush.
Everyone knew the way the wind was going to blow on this show. Williams was so nervous about the Tea Party he was actually suggested House Speaker John Boehner might be a force for good. Weirdly playing snippets of the old Jimmy Dean tune “Big Bad John,” about how nobody gives lip to Big Bad John, Williams announced, “By all accounts the big meeting with his fellow Republicans is tense. In no uncertain terms the Speaker tells hardline conservatives, who are in no mood to compromise, to get in line behind his bill.”
Notice the labels. Somehow, Williams never spent a second on his Obama special asking the president how he was going to handle the demands of “hardline liberals” — or any kind of liberal, for that matter. The only hardliners are conservatives who want to stop the spending madness. What this country desperately needs are more “hardline conservatives” to dismay network anchormen.
Williams undermined his own musical intro by questioning Boehner’s grip on power. “Mr. Speaker, is it fair to say you have a bit of a rebellion on your hands?” Sadly, Boehner tried to play along. “I’ve got a little rebellion on my hands every day. It comes with the territory.”

The way I see it is that liberal media want to drive a wedge through the Republican party.
Gary that is what they think they are doing, but it ain't happening in 2012. Barry is toast next year and can move the family out of the nations house a little earlier than planed. Then you know what he won't be one of those "Corporate Jet Club people ' he rants on about. he is flying around in the biggest corporate jet in the USA today.
One term Barry is a lying and the Libya War is still flying. I might say a illegal/unilateral White House War only War. And he is losing in Iraq,Afghanistan and Barry's war Libya. Bye Bye Barry
Careful Gary don't get caught responding to me, someone might think your a DNC Plant too. SHHH be very very quite I hunting angry people.
ireuel grow up!
You can be so immature at times.
I really do not mind you & your looney comments for I know you have a soft spot for your love interest Ellen / Alias for James McPherson & a mind to match it.
Don't put anything past the Democrats. They know how to play dirty and we've been their targets too damned long.
It's time to give back, in spades, what we've received from them. I realize it may offend some folks' senses of honor, but to deal with the Marxists one needs to rationalize that the only language they, the leftists understand, is a few degrees worse than what they give us. Either that or one has chosen to let them roll over us at every turn.
I don't know why any Republican even tries to speak to the MSM! They try to 'play along' and always get butchered in the end. Do they think the MSM will suddenly have an "aha" moment and begin reporting the news again?
I just wish Boehner would not look on the members of the Tea Party as adversaries. They are this nation's last, best hope for saving this country. The Democrats are sticking to their play book by demonizing the Tea Party hoping to drive a wedge between the 'old guard' and the Tea Party. Is it too much to pray that the 'old guard' will retire and go away and let the Tea Party take the lead? No one else listens to the will of the people.
I recall, in a fairly recent statement from Speaker Boehner, that he, without reservation, said there was no distance between Tea Party citizens and he, John Boehner.
I have seen no evidence that Boehner looks upon Tea Partiers as adversaries. To the contrary, he is thankful that such an activist element is part of the Republican Party, and we absolutely are.
He holds a precarious perch, because until the "old guard" you mentioned does go away via attrition, John Boehner has the tough job of holding all right-wing forces together so we can address an all-important mission; beating Obama and his Democrats to save our country.
I see it has been confirmed Obama's birth certificate, as released by the shite house is not a scan of a paper document. When is and who in officialdom is going to follow this issue with a demand for a forensic examination of the document Hawaii claims to have on file.
I am sick and tired of the charade and the lack of action of my senators and representative not obtaining irrefutable proof of this apparent imposter occupying the white house and pretending to be commander in chief of our armed services. The credibility of this nation has been, I fear, permanently damaged by this violation of the Constitution of the United States of America.

I am fed up to here!^
I think Brian Williams turned away from being an actual reporter to a typical NBC "anything for a buck" kind of TV personality. I admit that I once viewed this phony as an evening TV ritual. Then, one evening I turned on Fox News and was treated to a few "no big TV name" news reporters which left the deciding of what I heard up to me. What a novel idea! I have not been back to any NBC channel since.
To be fair (and balanced!), I mentioned Fox News reporters as opposed to opinion types, which Fox also has. One needs to know the difference. But, there is a good reason why Fox leads the cable networks news. Coincidentally, my three siblings have also gone over to Fox News, based upon what recommendations came from me. We all just broke a senseless habit.
Hey Mr. Brian Williams, since you support Barack Obama do you also support this endorsement?
Besides the usual Oprah Winfrey and George Soros, guess who is NOW endorsing Barack Obama for another 4 years in the White House? http://visiontoamerica.org/2891/communist-party-u…
Brian Williams is nothing more than just another Liberal Journalist in The Main Stream Media.
If only he understood that if he were fair & balanced in his reporting that he would be looked upon in the highest esteem in the Journalistic World by the general public.
