Civil rights leaders in and around Minneapolis have recently expressed vocal criticism of their professional basketball team because it doesn’t contain enough black players.
The Minnesota Timberwolves’ roster does contain a smaller proportion — 33 percent — of black players than other teams in the league. Considering blacks make up just over 13 percent of the general population, though, the Wolves have actually over-represented the race by more than 250 percent!
Such facts mean nothing to black leaders who see racial discrimination under every rock.
The chairman of St. Paul’s African American Leadership Council said that fewer-than-average black players is likely a ploy to satiate a white (and ostensibly racist) Minnesota fan base.
“I think everything is a strategy,” he said. “Nothing happens by happenstance.”
The leader went on to say that the current team “resembles the 1955 Lakers.”
Another area civil rights leader echoed those sentiments, insinuating “that it was calculated” and calling Minnesota “a pretty white state.”
Furthermore, he called the team “a nullification of diversity and a reversal of history.”
A team official defended the roster decisions and called the race-baiters’ accusations “patently false.”
He also explained that the team showed interest in two black free agents, though other teams were able to snatch them up.
Even though there are fewer blacks, the team spokesperson said, there’s plenty of diversity among this year’s Timberwolves. In fact, half of the white players on the team were born outside of America.
Still, to determine whether players feel discriminated against, one might want to hear directly from black members of the team.
The only black player set to start for the team said he doesn’t see what all the fuss is about.
“It’s just basketball,” he said, explaining he “never really had to feel like … the only black guy out here.”
Affirmative action legislation has done enough harm to race relations in this nation already. When civil rights leaders, upset by the dearth of real racial injustice, levy such incomprehensible attacks as this, it further drives a wedge between citizens living in harmony with one another and those who see everyone with a different skin tone as an enemy.

Well what’s good for the goose is good for the gander,
then the other NBA teams have too many black players.
Oh, that’s right discrimination IS a one way street, my bad.
Disgusting. I would say the percentage of races in the teams should correlate to the percentage of races in the country. So therefore there should be more white players!!
Oh, I see, so these “civil rights” leaders think that only b!acks can play basketball and that all whites are r*cists.
The ‘race card’ – you have pulled that card so many times and over used this term so much it has lost it’s meaning! Stop whining and make excuses. NO ONE owes you anything in this life! At least in America you use to have a chance to accomplish what you dreamed with hard work and sacrifice – that dream has been pulled away from many in the last 4 years – hopefully, we will get that opportunity back on November 6th. Don’t use the ‘race card’ as an excuse anymore – NO one is listening anymore – roll up your sleeves and get to work and stop waiting for handouts and false promises!
What they need to do is name these “black leaders” so we will know who they are, how come they don’t stand out and be recognized for what they believe to be true. Obama has exposed the true racist in this country and it shows that is the majority of the black people.
The news has reported that 95% of black people voted for obama and they expect to see the same turn-out for him again, now I believe that it is the black people that keep them from advancing in society not the white man, in fact the white male in society is being pushed aside, not just by black people but by the whites also.
I have found that when applying for a job that most recruiters are “encouraging” minorities to apply for certain positions and this is with the brown people also and you don’t see them asking or encouraging white people to apply, no that would be racist. This whole racist thing is completely up-side down and kept alive by the very people that are supposedly fighting for equality, I don’t think that they are fighting for equality they are fighting for domination. I believe that when that domination happens that America will resemble Africa in nature and economy and America will be squandered by the black people that thought that the change that obama wants to bring is what is good for them. I can’t believe that they can’t see that obama is not for them he is for him and his communist cronies to set-up their elitist government where even the black people will be calling him king obama.
We will not be a strong country anymore and what will really happen is that the radical islamist will dominate the black society and will utterly destroy America and any other country it controls. Black people want Africa in America, at least they think they do, when it happens they are going to look at what they have done and go “what happened to America” and they will be bowing to Allah and saying “Allah el-ak-bar” and living under sharia law.
If that is what they really want then all I can say is, go for it, but don’t cry to the terrible white people when life really won’t be worth living with your new masters. ISLAMIC EXTREMIST God, bless the poor black people, they have been so wronged.
The blacks treat other races like they are better than us, most of the pimps are black and while they call everyone else racist they better look in the mirror. I remember a lady from Mississippi that was up here visiting her granddaughter and you talk about racist she was but I laughed at her because whe said very funny things and she said most black basketball players were created from monkeys because of the long arms, legs and the big lips. No they are the racist ones and not everyone else like they scream. Look at Kanye West and he thinks nobody is as good as the black man and when Obama got elected he said it is about time the black man got recognized. Cry me a river because they are the racist so like the kettle calling the pot black
Since these Black leader feel that blacks are under represented and there is a supposed cause of Discrimination, the NBA should be forced to shut down and pay Hugh fines to the DOJ which in turn will be given to Obama’s group ACORN.
Better yet, Lets force all professional sports organizations to only recruit players who are Black and or Hispanic. No whites will be allowed in any sport, 100% black. lets see how long the teams will last in Foot Ball, base ball, and basket ball. When it is not about the best players and teams and training and about Race, the Buying public will not pay to watch. Bankrupt.
