Big Sister Teaches Little Brother How To Pray in Heartwarming Video
Siblings are the friends that we didn’t pick but were instead gifted to us by our parents.
At least that’s how I look at my relationship with my brothers. I feel so blessed to have been given both an older brother and a younger brother. Even though we didn’t always get along when we were little, now I consider them great friends and I miss living in the same house as them.
My younger brother and I have a pretty special bond. He followed me to Oregon to attend the same university as me during my senior year. I had the honor of showing him the ropes and supporting his dreams far away from the comfort of our parents’ house.
Though, people remind me that I can’t call him my little brother because he towers over me. I barely come up to his chest. So, I call him my baby giant.
I tend to think that many younger brother/older sister pairs are like us. The older sister is able to teach her younger brother a thing or two as he is growing up. And the younger brother, in return, listens intently, even if his sister might be a little bossy (like I was).
I think that is one of the most powerful things about a video of a girl and her brother that was posted in 2015.
Older sisters have the opportunity to teach their brothers some important things and be a good example.
This sister, in particular, was showing her brother how to pray before bed.
Sitting on her bed, the siblings grasp hands together and close their eyes to pray.
The younger brother repeats every single word, one by one, as his sister leads him in this sweet prayer.
“Lord, Thank you for this day. Help us have sweet dreams and have a great day tomorrow. In your name, we pray. Amen.”
When her brother got stuck on the word “tomorrow,” the sister slowed it down and took it syllable by syllable so he could learn.
Their shared prayer shows that this sister is trying to be a good example for her little brother by helping him learn at a young age to lean on God and be thankful for all that he has given them.
