I was listening to a reply from President Obama the other day concerning some scathing remarks that Newark Mayor Cory Booker had made about a campaign ad that the Obama re-election team was running against Mitt Romney. Obama came out and proceeded to belittle Romney for being a businessman whose only concern was making a good profit at the expense of people. Obama then proceeded to try and clarify his vison of what the presidency is compared to Mitt Romney’s. “The President of the United States is not concerned about how much high profits can be made but making sure that everyone gets a fair shot!”
Actually, Mr. Obama, that is NOT the President’s job. The President’s job is to set the conditions in this country that allows business to flourish, keep taxes low, regulate commerce, attend to foreign affairs, and make sure America has a strong defense. (Doubt me? Read the Constitution)! It is up to the individual to take advantage of the opportunities afforded him/her in this country to go economically and socially as far as they are able. Everyone has different talents, abilities, and skills, Mr. Obama, and are therefore limited ONLY by how much effort they are willing to put into life to succeed.
The statement made by Obama ” that the President’s job is to make sure everyone gets a fair shot” sounds more like a man trying to play God rather than a man trying to govern a nation. America is the “land of opportunity,” not some communist utopia. The world has tried that utopian idea, Mr. Obama, in Russia, China, Cuba, North Korea, East Germany, and other places around the world, and the result??? Utter and complete failure! As a matter of fact, Russia and China have adopted a quasi-capitalistic system.
America IS a country built on business, Mr. Obama. Capitalism is what made America the strongest and most economically powerful country in the world until the SOCIALIST PROGRESSIVES got ahold of it. We were able to supply the free world military hardware, food, ammunition, and cash during World War II BECAUSE we were such an economic giant. We still supply the world when there is a major disaster or humanitarian crisis anywhere around the globe.
Why, Mr. Obama, do you mock the lifeblood of this country….capital investment in the private sector when you, yourself have attempted it only with taxpayer money (i.e. Solyndra, Lightsquared, Fisker Motors, and other business ventures)? The only difference is that Romney made money most of the time through Bain Capital while you have thrown away hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars on economic losers! Your political contributors have been paid back, but how many people lost their jobs because of those losers that you supported?
America IS big business to the world, Mr. Obama, and if you don’t know that by now, maybe being a professor of Constitutional law is where you really belong. By the way, Mr. President, you keep advocating the same failed policies, that you have tried for the last 3 1/2 yrs, for the next four years (if you are re-elected that is) and even towards the rest of the world. G8 Summit anyone? Germany wants austerity, and you want them to continue spending money they don’t have? Someone needs a refresher course in Economic 101!
Mitt Romney has worked and succeeded in the real world, put people to work, and saved a number of companies and businesses from going under. No capital investment firm has a perfect record, Mr. Obama, but you would know that if you had studied them at all. What are your accomplishments, Mr. Obama? So far in the “green energy sector,” all the American people see is the wreckage and waste of bad business decisions. Mr Booker has since been trying to walk back his Sunday remarks because of pressure from both the White House and the Democratic machine. It’s too bad that honesty in this country is no longer allowed.

What’s amazing is that the “Manchurian Candidate” is attacking Romney for his time at Bain Capital, at the same time Obama did virtually exactly the same thing, the difference being that Romney did it with his companies money and Obama did it with the tax payers money. Obama fired the president of General Motors, he ordered them to stop making Hummer’s, Pontiac’s, Oldsmobiles and Saturn’s. He also ordered the closure of hundred’s of Chrysler Dealerships. all of which I believe were owned by Republican’s. He gave the shareholders of GM 25 cents on the dollar and turn dover 10.3% of GM to the Unions and 41.4% of Chrysler. So can someone anyone tell me the difference between what Obama and his dysfunctional Administration did to GM and to Chrysler that is any different that what Bain Capital might do to try and turnaround a failing company, other than once again, Bain Capital used and risked their own money while Obama threw away billions of tax payers dollars. I am rather amazed that Obama’s campaign is so stupid to try and use Romney tenure at Bain Capital against him, then again pretty much anything and everything that Obama and his dysfunctional Administration do amazes me, in that they keep getting away with it, when they should all be arrested and prosecuted for all that they have done to bringAmerica close to the edge of the cliff.
I like your comparasons Harleyguy. What you say is easily proven by reading the newspapers or watching and listening to the news. Obama is trying to say that Romney laid of tens of thousands of people. I supose that’s true as far as it goes. But Obama might notice or Romney should tell that he saved hundreds of thousands of jobs.in doing that. He knew what he was doing. To put it another way, he had to amputate the leg to save the life. Now Obama has spent trillions of taxpayer dollars paying back his biggest campaign suporters and has cost us millions of jobs and doesn’t have a clue what he did. He tried to save the life by cutting off the head.

Barrak Obama is not GOD, he has no right to put down a man who ran a company for making a profit. The fairness and re distribution of wealth is nothing more than Theft…you take from a man who works and give it to people who will not work, how is this fair? Everyone should work Including those who receive welfare. People who are paid to do nothing is beyond comprehension….but when you look at Washington DC and how much nothing they accomplish and get paid for…no wonder our country is broken
It just dawned on me. Remember the tale about the ants and the grasshopper? The ants worked all summer long and when winter came they had plenty to eat and survive on. The grasshopper fiddled around all summer and when winter came he froze his butt off. Obama is working for the grasshoppers of the world.

Did anyone notice the other day when he was making comments (don’t remember what the occasion was, it was so eventful)..but he said “my Chicago press”…….? That struck me that he thinks he controls all the press….likely the lamestream media which not many watch anyway. I hope we will be able to remove him from office along with his many minions, all of whom have wasted our money for the past 3+ years…..November is coming!!!!

Evidently you weren’t around during the Bush years when the repubs could walk down the sidewalk without the media complaining about them stepping on the cracks. The msm beat the republicans so much and often that the people wanted ‘hope and change’. They got their change in the pocket but not much hope. The writer stated about as open a statement of this election as a writer can truthfully say. I don’t understand anyone who looks at our USA and doesn’t see this. Harleyguy also said an addition that again hits the nail on the head. When all the fluff and rhetoric is wiped away, it does come down to this. Sounds like common sense to me. Either you believe this statement and vote or you don’t. Let’s just hope we make it to an election – if we do, I’m pretty sure the outcome.
