Severely trailing in the polls, GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has been making the media rounds. Tuesday morning, the Minnesota congresswoman stopped by MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” where she pulled no punches on GOP front-runner Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney.
In a conversation with host Joe Scarborough about lobbyists and influence-peddling in Washington, D.C., Bachmann explained how lobbyists hone in on the tax code to help their respective causes.
“The tax code is about 3.8 million words, and the reason why is because its carve-outs and sweetheart deals,” Bachmann said. “That’s what influence peddlers do. And that is the playground, is the tax code. It’s crony capitalism.”
Scarborough expressed his frustration with the model, saying that no matter the party he gets tired of politicians expressing a belief in the free market when they are engaged in rigging the system.
Bachmann agreed and took the sentiment a step further, naming names — specifically her opponents for the Republican presidential nomination.

Bachmann is exaggerating when she says Romney is not a crony capitalist. Gingrich is the ultimate crony capitalist, not Romney.
WHO'S NEWT?: http://giveusliberty1776.blogspot.com/2011/12/who…
… and, most recently, he has proposed giving 30 MILLION Illegal aliens amnesty as long as they pay a small fine and can "speak English" — thus opening the door to ANOTHER 100 MIILLION, or more, family members! Good Bye America.
“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.” – Thomas Jefferson
Whether it's flip-flopping on TARP, supporting the individual mandate that served as a model for "ObamaCare," joining with Nancy Pelosi in support of the global-warming crowd's radical agenda, or making millions off of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as they helped destroy our economy, Newt Gingrich is trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
He's what is called a "counterfeit conservative."

Gingrich Explains His Support for Individual Health Mandate
From the Glenn Beck program 12/6/11:
GINGRICH: I am for people, individuals, exactly like automobile insurance, individuals having health insurance and being required to have health insurance, and I am prepared to vote for a voucher system which will give individuals on a sliding scale a government subsidy so it will ensure that everyone as individuals have health insurance.
President Obama on the individual healthcare mandate, August 2011: “(Obamacare) should not be controversial… the individual mandate’s important… It’s just like your car insurance…”
Gingrich Supported Rockefeller Over Goldwater
Barry Goldwater’s 1964 presidential campaign was arguably the most important in the history of the American conservative movement, leading to the “Reagan Revolution” in 1980 and it continued to have a significant influence on the Right well beyond that particular election. Where was Newt Gingrich in this fight? Supporting Nelson Rockefeller:

The “Principled Leadership” of Newt Gingrich
“I am not inclined to be a supporter of Newt Gingrich’s having served under him for four years and experienced his leadership. Because I found it lacking often times. There’s all kind of leaders, leaders that instill confidence and leaders that are somewhat abrupt, leaders that have one standard for the people that they are leading and a different standard for themselves. I will have difficulty supporting him for president of the United States.” — Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla.)
“We had to push Newt because he wanted to cave in… Those of us who told Newt, ‘If you don’t fight for a balanced budget and don’t fight for these tax cuts and don’t fight for the cuts in committee chairmanships, etc., etc., that we promised we were going to do, we are going to kick you out’ — those 10 or 15 or so, every one of them — Tom Coburn, Matt Salmon running again in Arizona, all of them. They may not be saying it publicly, but privately they’re sending me e-mails every day going, … ‘How many times does Newt have to teach these people he’s bad for the conservative movement?’–MSNBC host and former U.S. Rep. Joe Scarborough, part of the “Republican Revolution” of 1994
Via the The American Spectator’s Quin Hillyer:
Former American Conservative Union Chairman Mickey Edwards was even blunter:
“I’ve known Newt now for thirty years almost,” says former congressman Mickey Edwards. “But I wouldn’t be able to describe what his real principles are. I never felt that he had any sort of a real compass about what he believed except for the pursuit of power.”
The Sr. Administrator of HermanCainForums has soundly rejected Newt Gingrich & endorsed Ron Paul. In a Posting on the site he stated,
Now that Herman Cain has dropped out of the race my new candidate is….. Congressman Ron Paul. Ron Paul was the only candidate that actually had remorse for how the media treated Herman Cain and the alleged affairs, I will always thank him for showing respect in that nature, with that said. I had always liked a lot of what Ron Paul advocates, I don’t agree with him on everything but probably 90%. I am going to encourage all Ron Paul supporters to come here and openly support Ron Paul for he is now my new official candidate for President. I was asked to support Newt Gingrich, there is no possibly way I could every endorse Newt Gingrich, how the republican party is supporting Gingrich I have no idea. While Newt has had documented multiple affairs with women Herman Cain’s campaign was destroyed by accusations yet Gingrich is at the top of the polls? What the hell is wrong with the republican party./
