It’s ALL About OIL — Period!

Obama strangles Big Oil SC Its ALL About OIL Period!

A British think tank, Chatham House, has just released a report that confirms what many of us have always known (but environmental wackos refuse to believe.)  The group says that biofuels harm the planet more than fossil fuels, and fossil fuels are a lot more cost effective.

What’s caused my blood to boil is that we (the sane conservative majority) have silently stood by for decades while the most extreme elements of the left have stayed in motion, fighting for their depraved cause.  We may have thought that because we were right, we would eventually win the battle.  That logic is as naïve as if David, when he was facing the towering Goliath, had not bent down to pick up some stones for his slingshot, passively assuming that God would make everything right.

IF we had fought these social terrorists decades ago, we would not have needed to go into Kuwait in 1991 when Saddam Hussein invaded the country and was determined to blow up their oil fields.  HAD we had been energy independent then, we could have, perhaps, offered some humanitarian assistance (but little else.)

Thanks to the weakness of presidential administrations going back decades (obviously, both parties are to blame), we went into Kuwait (NOT for the noble reasons then stated) to prevent this nasty dictator (who hated us) from blowing up some real estate of another country that also had no love for the U.S.

The plain truth (I agree with the ‘anti-war’ groups on this point) is that it really was all about the oil.  But the story in the liberal media should not have ended there.  It was ‘all about oil’ because the agenda-driven environmentalists have blocked every effort here in America for American companies to tap into the vast resources of crude oil beneath the surface of many areas of the United States.

Had it not been for the ‘tree-hugger’ extremists, many U.S. soldiers who died in these senseless Middle East deployments would have been alive today, raising their families and going on with their American Dream.

I think these groups have a whole lot of blood on their hands, and for WHAT?  Though they have disrupted a lot of progress in the United States, they have no factual data to justify or document the chaos they have caused for decades.  With liberal/progressive ‘fanatics,’ it is always about “feelings,” not facts.

If administrations of both parties had pushed back decades ago, we would have a lot more troops still alive today, a lot more money in our national bank account (with a positive rather than a negative balance via savings from ‘wars’ and deployments that never happened), and a whole lot more jobs, thanks to fossil fuel extraction sites around the nation. We would also not now be thinking that $3.39 a gallon for gasoline is a real BARGAIN!

I think it might be time to start pushing back — before it is just plain TOO LATE!

The Wrath Of God

Hagee SC The Wrath of God

I make no apology for writing about God and things in the Bible that (I think) relate to the current world in which we live and the mess we have created and are continuing to compound.  If you are offended that I bring GOD into the equation , I am (shallowly) so sorry but simply will not apologize.  It is what it is, and we are where we are in history.

I check out many informational websites and TV programs, both secular and Christian on a daily basis.  Recently, I watched a sermon by one of my Christian heroes, John Hagee, who pastors a large church in Houston, Texas. I like Hagee because he does not ‘mince words.’  John Hagee does what very few (whether Christian or secular talking heads) do.  HE TELLS IT LIKE IT IS from a Biblical perspective.

In his preaching/teaching, he said that the United States had “crossed the line” (spiritually) when our current Administration in Washington, under the leadership (?) of President Obama,  endorsed ‘same sex’ marriage.  I applaud Hagee’s stand because most ‘religious’ tax-exempt organizations are way too concerned about their tax-exempt status to actually take a stand on anything.  That is because the IRS, the ACLU, our current President, and his administration have intimidated them into a state of fear, numbness, and ineffectiveness.

Our so-called “leader” is now considering going to the Supreme Court to have California’s 2008 ban on same-sex marriage ruled unconstitutional.  If it wasn’t so pathetic, it would actually be humorous that a President who has ignored our founding document, the rule of law, our Congress, and the will of the (taxpaying legal) people in his first four years would suddenly embrace our Constitution. That would (or should), to any thinking individual, whether liberal or conservative, appear to be the peak of hypocrisy in a national leader.

If you know anything about the Bible, you are, or should be, familiar with the destruction of the Old Testament cities of Sodom and Gomorrah because of God’s disgust with how the majority of the inhabitants of those cities had turned from following Him in pursuit of their own perverted sexual lusts.  Maybe you muse at this bit of history, but I doubt that there is much to laugh about in the eyes of God.

Our nation has silently stood by while over 55 million babies have been murdered since our Supreme Court said it was OK (in Roe vs. Wade) to kill kids in the womb. More recently, the courts have said that it is OK to kill them once their heads are exiting the mother’s body, so long as the little person is pushed back in so that the “doctor” can stick a surgical instrument into their defenseless brain to kill them.  Do you still support this ideology?

We have stood silently by as our egomaniac  leader has pushed his socialist agenda on our nation.  We have continued to sit back on our fat apathies while allowing our nation to step completely outside the will of God.

I understand the “gimmie” crowd that is going for all of the freebies they can get and will contribute nothing, other than the sales tax they cannot get around. BUT, I do not understand even the most liberal/progressive/socialist American citizen who can support this President, who is hellbent on disarming those of us who bear arms legally while sending arms and airplanes of war to those leaders in other countries who hate our guts. (not to mention our southern border, which he refuses to close to all but those who enter our country legally.)

If you have even a scant knowledge of the Bible, then you will understand my closing thoughts.  If not, then you will either laugh or dismiss them completely.  All I will say is shame on you.

My parting thought is that if God does not pour out His wrath on the United States very soon, then He owes a huge apology to Sodom and Gomorrah.  If you don’t know what I am talking about, do some research.

To Liberals, More Is Never Enough

abortion is not health care1 To Liberals, More Is Never Enough

We just ‘celebrated’ the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s murderous decree in the Roe v. Wade case.  Since that spiritually satanic ruling, a number approaching 60-million murders has occurred.  The most damning reality is that this Supreme Court decision has made the murder of the unborn legal.  When President Obama’s former spiritual leader of 20 years, Jeremiah Wright, uttered the words asking that “God damn America,” had he been preaching about the killing of our most vulnerable – the unborn, including the partially-born-I might have been one of his cheerleaders. The wrath of God deserves to be poured out on a nation that professes to follow Him yet condones the killing of our most innocent – the unborn.

Way back forty years ago, the issue was a “woman’s right to choose.”   OK, whether or not I agree with the ‘wisdom’ of the legal decision, it became the ‘law of the land.’  But, as the title of my article states, liberals are never satisfied.  They always want more – at the expense of us all.

Had this moral issue stopped with a woman’s ‘right to choose,’ it might not have become the mega-moral nightmare it has become thanks to our current President and his progressive administration.   This President and his goon squad are forcing American employers to pay the cost of providing contraceptives and abortive procedures as part of their employee health insurance packages.  For business owners with religious or personal convictions that oppose the murdering of unborn babies, this is a sin against their God and their conscience.  But, the Obama goons say, “You will do it, or we will crush you with daily fines.”

The tidy liberal name for abortion or killing has always been “pro-choice.”  That, of course, means pro-murder, pro-killing, pro-infant slaughtering.  Excuse me for caring about the most defenseless among us, but I find it repulsive that all of those who are champions of ‘pro-choice’ are probably the same individuals who would spit on a person wearing a fur coat.  ”How dare you selfishly condone killing an animal so that you can wear a coat made of  fur,” they would hiss.  Hypocrisy just doesn’t get much bigger than that.

If a woman wants “morning after” pills, they are legal.  She can either take precautions the “night before,” or she can buy her own pills.  Makes sense to me.

The insanity of this administration’s threat to put companies that do not comply with this Godless mandate out of business defies logic.  They fine a company to the extent that the company finally closes its doors, putting all of the employees out of a job.  That sure doesn’t sound like compassionate governing to me.  It sounds like the outer edges of a dictatorship.

And all of those employees who will suddenly find themselves unemployed will add to the tax burden by applying for unemployment, food stamps, and an endless list of freebies.  Hey, maybe that is really what King Obama wants; but he and the rest of his elite crowd are too dumb to ask this question: if they reach their goal of having everybody at the public trough, who will be left to provide the dollars to buy feed for that trough?

Abortion: It’s A Guy Thing Too

Abortion Protestor SC Abortion: It’s A Guy Thing Too

According to the pro-life website Life News  (http://www.lifenews.com/), this week (the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision),  our nation marks 40 years of legalized abortion in all fifty states at any time and for any reason throughout pregnancy.  That Supreme Court decision has resulted in approximately 55,772,015 abortions – let’s call it what it is – murder of babies, the slaughter of innocent lives.  That number may escape you. It is nearly 56-MILLION  babies.

Don’t give me that sanitized garbage by calling these human lives “fetal tissue.”  If it is legal in our country to murder them, then they deserve the dignity of being called babies .. children (of God) .. human beings.  And please don’t feed me the pathetic liberal female line “It’s my body, and I have a right to choose.”  Well lady, you had a right to choose before you hopped into the sack and had unprotected sex. When you forfeited your obligation to do the ‘right thing,’ you gave me and other men and women who believe in the sanctity of life a right to challenge your self-centered view of life.

A very long time ago, I was having a conversation with a moderately conservative female friend; and we got onto the topic of ‘abortion.’  Her opinion was that women should have the ‘right to choose.’  My question to her was: “Aren’t you thankful that your mother didn’t decide she didn’t feel like going through the hassle of having and raising a kid – you?”  She was silent.  She is now deceased.  Her name was JoAnn.

I said, “JoAnn, I have my rights and you have your rights; but nobody is looking out for the most vulnerable among us, those unborn babies.”  She still remained silent.  Maybe she knew deep down inside that I was right.  I still am.

At another point during my male journey through life, I talked about abortion with a liberal female friend.  We have always been close because though we have always fought like cats and dogs on issues about which we are individually passionate, neither of us has ever feared rejection.  I guess that is what real mutual respect is all about.

She said that, of course, she would never have an abortion; but it should be the woman’s “right to choose.”  She then went on to talk about all of the poor people in the ghettos and how it was ‘humane’ to abort because if those kids were born, they weren’t wanted anyhow and would never have the love or opportunities that others have.  WHAT LIBERAL TRIPE!  Not ONCE did it occur to her that maybe that unborn kid should have a say in the final decision. My goodness, the kid might have become  President – instead of what we are now stuck with for another four years.

I apologize not if I offend you; but a nation that allows almost 60-million babies to be murdered is hypocritical to act concerned about the lives that are taken because of deranged individuals firing weapons in public places.  Believe me, guns kill far fewer human beings nationwide than do Planned Parenthood’s abortion assembly lines.

The liberals say “Take away the weapons and the killings will go away.”  Dream on, little libbie.  However, if you make requirements for abortion (excluding issues regarding the mother’s life or incest) much more strict and cut the federal mandate that employers must even participate (under penalty of law) in this infant genocide, then maybe lives will actually be saved. In this issue, I can say, without hesitation, that GOD is on our side.

America Is Broke Because America Is BROKEN

US Flag 3 SC America Is Broke Because America Is BROKEN

I received an email recently, saying that twenty-two percent, or eleven of our fifty states (not fifty-seven, as our President thinks) have more people on welfare than working for survival. Is it any wonder that our nation is both broke and broken?

Yes, there are those who are unable to earn a living and need our compassionate help to survive.  I doubt that many would have a problem with providing the essentials to those who are unable to go it on their own.

My real argument, and outright disgust, is with those in these eleven states, and the other thirty-nine (or forty-six by our President’s calculation) who are completely capable of earning a paycheck.  Our political liberal mindset that says “You vote for me, and I will give you a meal ticket for life” has resulted in a nation of takers, not givers.

I know of a person who has ridden the unemployment gravy train for 99 weeks and more, simply because he decided that he was too good to take a job at ten-dollars an hour to get off the government welfare train.  He is typical of many who feel they are ‘too good’ to temporarily do ‘whatever is necessary’ to bring in a paycheck until a better opportunity comes about.

This mentality is totally void of personal pride. It is probably more the result of a generation that has been bombarded with “entitlement” propaganda at all levels of education along with a generous seasoning of media and government reinforcement.

I am of another generation.  Am I saying that everything about previous generations was right?  Not by a long shot, but previous generations in America had an instilled value system of ‘right and wrong’ that many of the current generation know nothing about.

Several years ago, I went through a horrible decade in my career.  All of the odds were against me – my age in a changing industry and economic downsizings.  I was determined to pay my bills. When nothing was happening as the result of submitting dozens of resumes, I signed up with a ‘temp’ service.  They called and almost apologetically said that they had a temporary position, but it had nothing to do with my background or previous salary.

It was a job at six-bucks an hour packing books into shipment boxes. The mistake most people make is in comparing a current opportunity with what they may have earned in their last position. It is like comparing apples to oranges.  I guess the fear is that “if I accept this six-dollar-an-hour job, I am lowering my standards.”  Sorry, but I do not agree.  It was a temporary position, and that company appreciated my work ethics and gave great latitude in adjusting my schedule to accommodate interviews for a full-time position.

I have great compassion as an American in offering a helping hand up and out of a temporary rough spot in another person’s life, but I am saddened that so many (especially younger) Americans get way too comfortable living on government assistance (“handouts” if you begin treating them as ‘entitlements’) to take any job to pay their bills so that the rest of us don’t have to.

Giving a paycheck to people who will simply not get off their butts because they can just vote a certain way and get a paycheck for life is just plain criminal, and those who make this happen are even bigger criminals for selling out the greatness of America to protect their own political turf.

When Did America’s Downhill Slide Start?

Obama Feeds America SC When Did America’s Downhill Slide Start?

According to the All About Philosophy website, Situational Ethics crashed onto the scene in the early 1960’s, about the time of the hippie movement, Woodstock, and the  ”make love, not war” movement.  It was the brainchild of the late Joseph Fletcher.  The website gives a little background on Fletcher, and may help to explain the moral mess in which we now find ourselves:

His work, Situation Ethics founded the modern situational ethics movement. Fletcher was an Episcopal priest, a member of the Euthanasia Educational Counsel, and an advocate for Planned Parenthood. He was a supporter of both euthanasia and abortion.  Quite a piece of work for a so-called priest. It seems apparent he seldom, if ever, read the Bible and the New Testament in particular.

The ultra-liberal Fletcher stated that decision-making should be based upon the circumstances of a particular situation, and not upon fixed Law. The only absolute is Love. Love should be the motive behind every decision. As long as Love is your intention, the end justifies the means. Justice is not in the letter of the Law, it is in the distribution of Love.” (All About Philosophy website)

The damage Fletcher’s philosophy planted in those impressionable minds of the 1960’s kids who were rebelling against the generation of their parents is enormous.  Catch phrase like, “What’s right for you may not be right for me,” quickly began to replace Biblical guidelines.  There were no longer any absolutes of “right and wrong,” “black and white.”  All that remained were varying shades of gray.

I cannot remember who said it but it has been etched into my memory since shortly after Fletcher’s Situational Ethics cancer took hold in our nation.  In giving his example of what  happens when a nation abandons the absolutes of right and wrong, he said it is like a gently flowing river which is kept in place by its banks.  Remove the banks and the river quickly dries and dies.  As a nation, we were like that river, flowing along a rather predictable course.  Fletcher’s philosophy was the social bulldozer which flattened the banks. Today we are morally not much more than that dried out riverbed.

Our elected officials offer few real men and women of courage and conviction that we can stand with. I have not heard our President, who is an excellent motivational speaker so long as his teleprompters are working, ever give a unifying speech or pep talk to the nation, geared to pulling us all together as Americans.  How refreshing it would be to hear at least some of our elected officials give us something to look up to once more, displaying a “Rah, Rah, right and wrong” spine that you would either love or hate, but at least you would know they had moral conviction instead of the spineless display we now see.

Those at all levels of government greatly influenced by union dollars, are seldom, if ever, looking out for those they are supposed to represent.  They are looking for ways to increase their power, period. It has everything to do with, in the case of an elected official, the next campaign, and in the case of the union head, increasing his/her clout so that they can milk more money out of our nation’s municipal, state and federal budgets, most of which goes to the top echelon , not those they “represent.”  In the case of politicians, to get reelected, just pass out government freebies to people who pay no taxes and keep them on your government plantation forever, not for America, but for your financial future.

Our government has become little more than a liberal/progressive governmental house of prostitution, with a lot of help from eunuchs – I mean “moderates” from both parties. They will not make an absolute right and wrong statement because they do not want to offend anybody—other than taxpayers, conservatives, Tea Party patriots, Catholics, Protestants, small business owners, gun owners, those who believe in protecting the unborn, those who believe in traditional marriage and legal American citizens.  Did I miss anybody?

I Agree That We Need To Keep Guns Out Of The Hands Of The Wrong People

guns SC I Agree That We Need To Keep Guns Out Of The Hands Of The Wrong People

Adam Lanza is the name of the latest sick person who had no business having a gun in his hand.  Additional gun laws or bans would probably not have prevented this sorry individual from doing what he did.  He had no weapons of his own, so more strict gun laws would not have prevented him from murdering all of those children as well as his mother.  This deranged young man shot his mother in the face, then stole weapons she legally owned and drove the short distance to the school he had attended several years earlier. Lanza used those firearms to kill 26 people, mostly little children.

Here is a recent history of senseless mass killings at schools and colleges over the past 42 years, thanks to the UK Daily Mail: Virginia Tech, University of Texas, Columbine High School, Red Lake High School, University of Iowa, Amish schoolhouse massacre, Cleveland Elementary School, University of Arizona, and Kent State University. Click here for the detailed report.

With the exception of the 42-year-old Kent State episode, I must believe that premeditation and some sort of advance planning was involved in all of these.  Even the 42-year-old shadow hovering over the Kent State Campus makes me think that this probably was not a totally instantaneous emotional event.

Something that has always given me the ‘creepies’ is studying the photos of the individuals who have committed these horrible crimes. Their eyes (set in an expressionless face) always seem totally void of any feeling, like there is nobody living inside the shell they call their body. It is like looking into a stagnant pond with no indication of life.  Or like looking into the eyes of someone who has no soul. It borders on demonic. In short, it is frightening.

Something equally as frightening is the fact that our President has placed Joe Biden in charge of an Administration effort to formulate policies (just what we need, more policies) to address gun violence in response to calls for action, especially from liberal and anti-firearm groups, following the senseless massacre in that Connecticut elementary school.  Joe Biden is a man who has managed to shoot himself in the foot more times than nearly any other politician on the planet – and every time, it was his mouth, not a gun, that inflicted the wound.

In no way am I diminishing what a sick individual did in that Connecticut school.  Liberals generally act on “feelings” rather than “facts”, so I am not going to lay the fact that gun deaths are down considerably over the past several decades (since the Al Capone era or earlier, I think).  I will ask you, whether conservative or liberal/progressive, to ask a few hard objective questions, since the news media seldom ever does.

Why is this administration so obsessed with taking firearms out of the hands of legal Americans while, according to many reports, giving them (at taxpayer expense) to Mexican drug lords (ever heard of ‘Fast and Furious”?)  and Al Qaeda terrorist groups in Syria and elsewhere?

Yes, we do need to keep guns out of the hands of the wrong people; but it seems as though those are the very people this Administration is determined to arm while disarming the rest of us.

Following The Election, Liberal Groups Attack The Salvation Army

Salvation Army SC Following The Election, Liberal Groups Attack The Salvation Army

I have been a board member with a county Salvation Army for seven years. Each Christmas season, I work every weekday between Thanksgiving and Christmas helping with their largest fundraiser of the year: the annual Red Kettle drive.

Donations placed in these red kettles are used to help people in our county throughout the year. This year, we have seen an increase in the number of small slips of paper placed in our kettles with the following message:

VOUCHER

This holiday season, I am supporting organizations that do not discriminate in any way against people based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other reason.

I will NOT donate to the Salvation Army and will instead give to other charities until the Salvation Army stops discriminating against the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community in hiring, firing, and promotion, and in the provision of benefits.

In an NBC News piece titled “Gay Groups Boycott Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive”, Bil Browning, editor of a LGBT blog, stated “As the holidays approach, the Salvation Army bell ringers are out in front of stores dunning shoppers for donations. If you care about gay rights, you’ll skip their bucket in favor of a charity that doesn’t actively discriminate against the LGBT community.”

What amazes me about liberal groups is that the word “discrimination” always seems to be a one-way street: It’s MY way or the highway. I hate to burst your bubble, little libbie; but if you have a passionate opinion or belief on anything, then YOU are prejudiced. Only a person looking at the grass from the bottom side can have no opinion and thus no prejudice.

My point is: do not confuse compassion with blind acceptance of something with which a large segment of society does not agree, any more than I would expect you to do the same. If you don’t agree with the Salvation Army because they don’t throw the Bible in the toilet, join hands with others and sing “Kumbaya.” That’s OK, but grow up enough to accept them for their beliefs as they accept you for yours, without expecting an abandonment of their beliefs and values any more than they expect that from you.

If your tender little feelings are hurt, then I must simply say: “Tough!” But from the perspective of one who has actually been involved with an organization that helps local people, it is hard to have a lot of sympathy for people who seem to be sitting on the sidelines contributing little or nothing in helping others up and out of a situation, while condemning those who do. If our government could operate even half as efficiently as the Salvation Army, then we would not be facing another national (they suddenly seem endless) ‘fiscal cliff.’

Merry Christmas from the Red Kettle volunteers worldwide. If that offends you, then my adding a hearty “GOD BLESS YOU” will probably offend you even more – though I know not why.

Union Leadership Mentality Makes No Sense

Obama Union Unrest SC Union Leadership Mentality Makes No Sense

How embarrassing to watch the rank-and-file union zombie puppets going through their recent orchestrated moves during Michigan’s “Right To Work” battle. Looks like the union leadership may end up with egg on their faces, and upper union management does not like a facial omelet.

As I mentioned in an earlier article, I live in a small town (though it is called a ‘city’) with a population just shy of 12,000. What is left of the downtown area has little to attract the retail shopper. We have three main grocery stores: one union and two non-union. The union store is near the center of what is left of the retail activity and has a non-union store on both edges of town. What does this have to do with “union mentality” (or lack of it)? Read on.

Only a few miles to the left of the union store (all three are on Main Street) is the newer of the non-union stores. This store has excellent prices that generally put the union store to shame. The store less than a mile to the right of the union store also has prices that attract a value-conscious shopper. THIS store has had union zombies (generally four) picketing for over three years. These robots have been standing on the public sidewalk in front of this store holding their silly signs so long that they have become invisible to the store’s shoppers.

I know a retired area union arbitrator who shops at this non-union store. I have asked him what the union point is. Even he cannot figure out the logic of wasting dues-payers money for pickets spanning over three years. If they had a point, it has been lost. If I was a member of this union (thank God I am not), I would be demanding to know why my money was being wasted on this little store in a Podunk town.  The sad reality seems to be that most union dues-payers don’t question because they just want their paycheck, benefits, and retirement – and simply don’t want to rock the boat. How selfishly and sickeningly sad, from my perspective.

Want to hear an interesting twist?  Many of those who have been picketing for the past three-plus years are union members who work for the “big” grocery store in town. Though most of the picketers are assigned from other areas, local folks recognize the faces of those who work for the “big” store. And it could appear as though the “big” store is trying to crush the “little” store, though that may not be the case (I have my doubts).

Want to hear an even jucier twist?  The “big” store owns the little store a few miles to the left of them on Main Street. Is it simply coincidence that this non-union store has not been picketed for the past three-plus years while the non-union store to the right of the “big” store has? Only a moron (or an upper-level union goon management person) would answer “yes.” The sad fact seems to be that most of the low level dues-payers have no clue and could care less about how their dues are being wasted or how they are being manipulated. They simply do not know how ‘politics’ works and do not want to.  Their union will look out for them.

A Small Example Of Union “Leadership”–Or Lack Of It

labor unions SC A Small Example Of Union Leadership Or Lack Of It

I live in a ‘city’ of just under 12,000. It is the county seat; and in the 1940’s, 50’s, and much earlier, it had a thriving downtown with many retail stores with both local and national names above their doors. There were theaters, restaurants, and taverns also. When malls and shopping centers invaded the American landscape, the downtown retail districts nationally took a major hit. My town is no different.

The national retailers are now gone. Even most of the small ‘ma and pa’ operations have closed. The theaters and most of the once-thriving eateries are gone too. Only some of the taverns remain, which I guess is a statement unto itself.

I heard the mayor of this ‘city’ speak at a local TEA Party meeting many, many months ago. He is a Democrat but was not pushing a party agenda. He was speaking as one who was entrusted with juggling the budget and priorities of a small metropolitan government. He shared his frustrations about the stranglehold unions have placed on most municipalities but also his determination to cut where possible to run a “lean-mean machine” when it came to doing the best job he could do for his residents.

In this small county seat town, as in most of the rest of the country, the union has ruined any chance of revitalizing any of the basic things that would attract new businesses and residents, resulting in more jobs, more taxes, more growth, and prosperity for all. The dirty secret is that all the union is looking out for is increasing their own upper level ‘union goon’ corporate power. It has nothing to do with those dues-payers they ‘profess’ to represent.

As I was driving to a non-profit monthly meeting recently, I navigated main roads that were in pathetic condition. A thought hit me, which may not be as dumb as it sounds on the surface: If all of the money is going to pay for the city employees and their benefits, and there is no money left to provide the services that their jobs require them to provide to those they are employed to serve – excluding police, fire, and other emergency service personnel – then WHAT‘S THE POINT?

Why doesn’t every municipality facing this problem simply FIRE EVERYBODY AND START OVER?
I am guessing that the simple answer is that previous union contracts have incorporated language that simply prohibits this.

Plain and simple, that is why we as a nation (and as individual municipalities) are in deep trouble. We have allowed the unions to take over simply because we thought our government would take care of us while we slept. Well, guess what?
