Pro-lifers are speaking out on the critical issue of religious liberty and getting arrested as part of a new strategy of active “resistance” to the Obama Administration’s pro-abortion and pro-homosexual policies.
Speaking at a “Stand Up for Religious Freedom” rally in Washington, D.C., Catholic Priest Marcel Guarnizo urged the Catholic hierarchy to take the fight to the Obama Administration and publicly denounce Catholic politicians who promote abortion and homosexual marriage. He singled out Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley for criticism.
He spoke in front of a “Real health care protects life” banner.
The rally is part of a national series of events being held in over 105 cities across the nation to speak out against the Obama Administration’s order or “mandate” from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that all employers, including religious institutions, provide birth control and abortion-related services.
The mandate’s narrow “religious exemption” would not apply to religious schools, hospitals, and charities.
In an attempt to attract major media attention, some speakers and demonstrators were arrested in front of the White House in symbolic defiance of the HHS Mandate. It is legal to demonstrate as long as one continues to move; but it is illegal to stop, kneel, and pray. “Dozens of people have already been arrested over the weekend for kneeling and praying in front of the White House,” noted WorldNetDaily.
Lila Rose, who has become famous for sponsoring undercover investigative journalism videos exposing the illegal practices of the abortion industry, was a featured speaker at the Sunday event, held in Lafayette Park across the street from the White House.
Rose, president and founder of the pro-life group Live Action, said that the HHS mandate is ultimately designed to provide more taxpayer dollars for the abortion industry.
Her latest “Gendercide” videos at the www.LiveAction.org site expose sex-selection abortions in America, in violation of the law. “We use new media to educate the public about the humanity of the unborn and investigative journalism to expose threats against the vulnerable and defenseless,” her site says.
Kristina Garza, campus outreach director of Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, also spoke, saying that America has traditionally been a place where people go to escape religious persecution but that the persecution has now come to America itself. “We cannot let this country get to the point that we have to hide the fact that we are Christians,” she said.
She added, “If we are the country where people historically run to for freedom, and our freedom is being revoked, where is our hope?”
Fr. Marcel Guarnizo told the rally that the HHS mandate is really about abortion. “They want to make abortion the national way of the United States and make you pay for it,” he said.
“There’s way too much silence even in the Catholic Church,” he said, adding that “We need a strategy for resistance.” He said he has urged Catholic leaders to consider new ways to counter what the Obama Administration is doing.
He also apologized for what some self-proclaimed Catholics have done, such as Obama’s HHS secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, who legalized homosexual marriage. “I would like to say as a Catholic that I am ashamed and sorry that we put society through this grief, that we did not teach them and have not corrected them. But these people use the Catholic name for political reasons. And we have to start making distinctions as shepherds.”
He added, “Our issue is not that people sin. Our issue is with people who are sinning willfully, knowingly, and making it public policy. Those people need to be castigated publicly by the shepherds of the church.”
Other speakers include Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition; Father Frank Pavone, the National Director of Priests for Life; Brandi Swindell, founder and President of Stanton Healthcare; Rev. Rob Schenck, President of The National Clergy Council; Rev. Bryan Fischer, Director of Issues Analysis for the American Family Association; and Bryan Kemper, National Youth Director for Priests for Life.

The muslim has to go, no obama in 2012
Has America not noticed, that we are losing all our liberties and personal freedom? This country was founded under God, and now this country is becoming Godless. We used to be a Christain Country, and for sure the Christains are not the majority any more,lest wise Obam- nation would not be President. Some some people and children have never heard the name of God or Jesus, except in cursing? America must wake up, and bring back God to all.
I knew when I heard 4 yrs. ago that Obama was crooked,& muslim & hired criminals to work in white house & ON, & ON, & On, that he was against the Americans, & wanted to Change The name of United States Of America to The United States of Islam, He is not the Anti- Christ but he is opening the Door up for The Anti-Christ I truely believe, I am not sure Romney is the best for President but he does not want to distroy the USA, He is evil,,& God is going to punish a whole lot of people, I was raised Democrat but when Obama came into the Picture I changed to Republican real fast, i read a website a few months ago that said Obama gets elected again then the next thing he will ban is our Bibles, I would rather be poor & hungry than have Obama again,& if obama gets re-elected we will never get him out of the white house, he will sign a exective order to make his self Perment Presedent,their will be no more elections U can take that to the bank, Obama is about as useful as “Tits on a Bore Hog”
I saw a picture of Obama and what was reported to be his gay lover, from his college days, in a close embrace. If I had been thinking, I would have saved the pic. Quite frankly, I was repulsed by the concept. I was raised without a dad because my dad was a flaming faggot. Scripture decries homosexuality as an “abomination in the eyes of the Lord.” Neverthelles, many queers claim to be Christians. I can only say that I wouldn’t want to be in their loafers when they havta face God on Judgement Day.
So sad this is happening in the good old USA. Arrest those who stop and pray but let the Muslims kneel in the middle of the streets in N.Y. and other cities and hold up traffic while they do their worshipping. Wow. This man is destroying the US and some people are not smart enough to see it or just want the hand outs.
If obama gets re-elected it tells me it was meant to be its what God was talking about in the Bible,that we would die for believing in God, That this will happen so if we hate this now we are really going to suffer when God starts his plan so my guess is that things are going to get really bad no matter what we do people like obama & his stupid wife & the soilders hes putting in the white house are R hear to stay, & yes I would like the Handouts but not at the cost of loosing my God & Country

They can claim to be Christians all they want, but the Bible clearly says only those that keep his commandments will be with God in heaven. They are not keeping his commandments in any shape or form. Also, the fourth commandment states that Saturday is the Sabbath Day set by God after he created everything. It is stressed throughout the Bible that this is the ONLY day God recognizes as the Sabbath. The Roman Catholics are the ones that changed it to Sunday back in the first century. In 200 AD, the Pope was excommunicating the Bishops that did not comply, and murdering the Christians if they didn’t. They also changed the 2nd Commandment because they worship Mary and use Rosary Beads for prayer which is worshiping idols and not God. The Catholic Bible reflects their changes to God’s Holy Word. The Catholics are in deep trouble. Revelations 22:18 – 19…For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
They DID take away from the Bible, and they DID add to it to justify what was convenient for them and their beliefs. Because of the Roman Catholics, millions of Christians have been led astray, and led to believe that Sunday is the Sabbath. It is not according to God’s Holy Word.

Not only did Obama have a gay lover while he was married to Michele, right before he started to run for President, I think it was in 2007, his gay lover (the choir director for many years at Rev. Wright’s church) was murdered. They never found the person who killed him and the Chicago police never really investigated the crime. They figured his lover had to be murdered because he had an impeccable background and, if his relationship with Obama was investigated, the lover’s word would have been taken over Obama’s and there was nothing anyone could do to smear him. Now this time, Ambassador Stevens, who knew we gave guns, etc., to Al Qaeda in order to help overthrow Qaddafi, dies under very mysterious circumstances. Not saying Obama was directly involved with either murder, but you’d have to be smoking something to not understand that, at the very least, these acts were perpetrated by someone who wanted to make sure Obama became President and stayed there for 8 years. By the way, the two former Navy Seals turned CIA operatives were in Libya to confiscate the weapons we gave Al Qaeda so there would be no proof. Amazingly enough, even the teenager at my local donut shop knew about the U.S. weapons going to Al Qaeda.
Ambassador Stevens was also gay thats why he was killed you don’t send a gay man to a muslim state then tell Al Qaeda that he’s gay bingo you’ll dead.
Would anyone care to place a bet?…..If a large group of Muslims decided to block traffic by praying on the streets as they do in Europe, would they get arrested? I doubt it.

Although he has done many things that disturb me, BO did not have people arrested for “praying” in front of the Whitehouse. The ordinance that stipulates that you must keep moving on the sidewalk surrounding the Whitehouse has been in place for many years. It is there to protect the people’s house and to allow all to have the ability to see it. Daryl Hannah was arrested for an anti-war protest where she sat down on the sidewalk. Kneeling constitutes stopping. This has nothing to do with praying.
obama has repeatedly invited muslims to Washington D. C. to pray in the streets or wherever they wish. muslims do not march as they pray. They KNEEL facing mecca, yet NOT ONE SINGLE TIME have I EVER heard of a stinking muslim ever being arrested in our nations capitol FOR ANYTHING, much less for praying to their false god. They could riot in the street and burn the city and obama would issue them an apology and total free reign. oh yeah, not to mention his “congratulations” as he did to the muslims in Cairo who torched our embassy and raped and murdered our Ambassador. obama is lower than anything that ever crawled on this earth.

I think you are right. True Americans will not back down to our enemies. When push comes to shove, America will fight back and show what she is made of. We all came from good stock, those who came to this country and settled, willing to fight for their land and their rights. Many people died for this country, and those who survived went on to build the America we love and respect. America has been slumbering too long and the enemy took advantage. Wake up America, it is time we take our nation back. Romney will put America back together again, and get us on the right track, but we have to get Obama out of the White House, and his brotherhood with him.
