Conservative superstar Ann Coulter launched a verbal assault on WND Editor Joseph Farah today, calling the veteran journalist “swine” and a publicity whore after she was dismissed as a keynote speaker for the news site’s upcoming “Taking America Back National Conference” here.
“[F]arah is doing this for PUBLICITY and publicity alone,” Coulter wrote in an e-mail to the Daily Caller, a political site founded by journalist Tucker Carlson.
As reported yesterday, Coulter was dropped from WND’s event next month because of her plan to address a gathering titled “HOMOCON” sponsored by the homosexual Republican group GOProud that promotes same-sex marriage and military service for open homosexuals.
Farah said the decision was a gut-wrenching one for his team because of their fondness for Coulter as both a person and writer-speaker.

HC, the motives you ascribe to me seem like a horrible waste of anyone's time, especially considering the reach and influence of almost all blogs (including this one and my own).
I post on all sorts of blogs, conservative and liberal, when I think I can add something meaningful or correct something, but you raise an interesting point that I'll address a bit further, if you don't mind. Sometimes I do end up "stirring up trouble," though that's virtually impossible unless I have considerable help of the type that frankly you've provided. Most people ignore me, just as most ignore you.

To continue, HC: I think one of the problems with this country is that too many people spend too much time talking and listening only to people who agree with them. In the process they reinforce their own biases, perhaps feel reaffirmed by their comrades, and learn relatively little.
Admittedly, personal biases are extremely difficult to overcome and we all have a natural tendency to seek out the information that reinforces those biases while rejecting info that counters it. Because of that I don't expect to change the minds of any regulars on ANY site (conservative or liberal), but may influence some of the middle-of-the-road types. And sometimes learn something myself.
Besides, I find the terms "liberal" and "conservative" to be very limiting and sometimes misleading. I freely admit that I'm a liberal on most things, but happen to be more conservative on at least one issue (gun control) than my conservative Republican Southern Baptist friend.

Ann Coulter has been good for a quick quip and a laugh and not much more. It has been more than obvious that she follows the money where ever it may lead and this is just a recent example.

I use to have a lot of respect for Ann Coulter, but when she crawled in bed with the homosexual fringe of the Republican party, GOProud, and "HOMOCON" she lost her conservative superstar status with me. She also puts down the "birther" movement. She is wrong, Obama's citizenship has never been proven and Mr.Farah is not the only conservative who still questions Obama's birth. In fact, 58% of the American people do not believe Obama was born in America. Who is really the publicity whore here?

Birthers aren't going to like this. Spent weeks going through all of the government websites (U.S. Consitiution and its Ammendments; Naturalization Act of 1795; Title 8 U.S. Code), read all of Farah's posts on his WND website, read all I could find on Snopes (not that he's a legal expert), and read the opinions of numerous credentialed bloggers and have come to the conclusion that we don't have a case — even if our defacto leader was born in Kenya.
Natural born is not well-defined in the U.S. Constitution. All I can conclude is that the term natural born used to distinguish citizens who by birth get their citizenship from their parent(s) from those who are foreign citizens and become U.S. citizens through the process of naturalization.
Title 8 Section 1401 (g) of the U.S. Code which deals with Nationality at Birth states that Obama's a U.S. citizen by right of his mother being a U.S. citizen regardless of the citizenship of his father and regardless of where he was born.

Even though his Indonesian father wrote on his school forms that he was an Indonesian citizen, a person's citizenship can't be taken away without their consent regardless of the actions of their parents. Obama would have to renounce his citizenship and he never did that.
My beef isn't so much his citizenship but ALL the other stuff he is hiding. What is in all those sealed records and why does he have so much trouble being transparent?!! He has a Connecticut SSN and I'd like to know how he got that seeing as he wasn't in Connecticut when that SSN was issued. I'm guessing that he may have used multiple SSNs and applied for scholarships as a foreign national but without anything to substantiate my hunch, I have no case… but the lack of information on him just taints him all the more.
Until Obama comes clean and unseals all his records and starts talking straight with the American people about his past and his shady associations, I have to believe that he's a liar and a fraud. There's simply too much controversy surrounding him and it doesn't take an Einstein to figure out that where there's smoke, there's fire. NOBODY that doesn't have anything incriminating to hide spends over a million dollars in legal fees to keep records normally accessible to the public out of the public purview!
He may have the best of intentions and have himself convinced that he's doing the best for the American public, but for all the money he's spent (of our grandchildren's inheritance), and all the partisan politics he's played, and for all his fingrepointing and blaming, he has little to show for all his empty and broken promises. Ann, I've loved and promoted you for a long time, but this time, you are wrong! Mr. Farah wants to keep unity in the conservative movement, so why would he allow a divisive viewpoint to be presented by someone (you) who has, or HAS had, such influence on those of us fighting to keep our values alive? It would seem that when we have our own strong leaders (you among them) lending their "starpower" to the opposition, we only dilute our strength. You have befriended the enemy by appearing to accept as "normal", that which is abnormal; namely what the Bible speaks of when it is prohibited for a "man to lie with a man". The left would jump at the chance to garner a few votes by organizing a slew of fringe groups while sacrificing morality. On second thought, they have no morality so there's one thing they technically can't violate. That is the dividing principle between left and right.

I try to treat everyone with the same respect. Not all remain deserving of it though. IMO there are always those who, like the problem child, are really looking for something they do not yet have. Adults usually seek information to substantiate a belief. If that belief is incorrect in your opinion isn't it a failure to not provide the correct information and no matter how annoying, like the child, stay the course?
I also notice that he does not respond in kind to you which leads me to believe he is quite happy to have you post what you do. In that respect you provide all who read it with a dim view of your rational ability. Setting you up is the attack. Your response is the reward . It is even possible you two are working together to make it look bad here.
A_pen, I assure you that we're not working together, but I don't blame you for thinking so. In some respects I'm sorry that those of you here who try to use reason–though obviously I disagree with some of your ideas and conclusions–have him/her claiming to be on your side of issues.
And generally speaking, I admit that I you are right in your view that I am quite happy with his/her comments, and I'd cerrtainly rather have him/her on your side than on mine. I don't take it personally that there are those who get quite heated. To each their own. I do find there are a world of differences between the types of arguments and attacks. Some are purely hostile without provocation and some are simply angry because they can't logically think. Why that is I have my own theories but in large part it is simply due to frustration. What causes that frustration is where politics, education and personal ego get top billing as to cause. At the point we are today with politics being more about manipulation than serving I am just as frustrated as anyone.

Much of what you write i agree with. But providing the truth to James & his counterparts has proven to be a useless process for they simply continue to spin more of the same.
No james does not respond kindly to me nor do i to him! Putting thins into perspective he threw the first stone! Most likely his intent by doing so was to simply have a continual disagreement with me. James does use this sites comments & responses extensively when posting to his own blog.
A-Pen though i think of you as somewhat of a passive i do respect alot of which you write. As well i have come to your defense more than once in the past. Coulter's attendence at the homocon is a disappointment to those who respect her; but do not respect her association with those who would force their choice on others; who detest their choice.
I was very disappointed to learn that Ann Coulter would even think of making a speech on behalf of the "HOMOCON" sponsored by the homosexual Republican group GOProud that promotes same-sex marriage and military service for open homosexuals.
Ann has been a conservative voice for the Republican Party as well as independent groups, because of her stand for faith values and love for America. She will how lose that image and her audience to conservatives which will also affecf book sales.
She called Joseph Farah of WND a "publicity w_____." But considering it was she who decided to speak for a homosexual group and pro-same-sex marriage for "merely a paycheck" as she stated, my question to her is "WHO is the publicity w_____?"
Ann's reply in an article was, "to make this speech was merely a paycheck." There is one word for that comment, which is GREED. What happened to her convictions, conscience, and faith values? Or was that all a sham and merely for a paycheck as well?

This was a foolish statement considering the fact that Joseph Farah announced that although she was dropped from "Taking America Back National Conference," that she would remain as a columnist of WND. So, she should have kept her mouth shut for a change. So, she must now ask herself, "WHO is the publicity w______?"
Sorry, Ann … you were one of the favorites among conservatives and those of us with faith values, but will lose a large part of your audience who purchases your books and listens to your speeches. But, then you may not care now that you have the homosexual groups behind you. Was that the choice you intended to make? Hope it was worth it!
The fact that Farah keeps her on as a columnist doesn't demonstrate a great deal of conviction on his part, either. On the other hand, this behavior by Coulter is nothing new; the only thing different is her target.

Yes, I've heard of a contract. But unlike you, apparently, I also read the article in which Farah said he was CHOOSING to continue running her column because he values a diversity of opinion.
I believe he's making the choice, but don't believe that money isn't the major motivator (after all, he doesn't run any liberal columns). After all, the fact is that he knew what she was when he started running her column, even if she hadn't yet attacked him.

I assume you mean "lacking," which is an actual word, rather than "likeing," which is not. And though I do contest many of your posts, I ignore most of them for four reasons:
a) you seem to be compelled to comment on everythng (usually saying the same things over and over), regardless of how little you know, so it would be difficult to keep up;
b) you write a lot about "facts," but actually use almost none, and get a disturbing number of those wrong;
c) with your combination of personal bias and media literacy skills, anything I write to you is a waste of time, unless there's a broader purpose in mind;
d) I feel like a bit of a bully when I do bother to respond.
