New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is flexing his political muscle to give abortion advocates their biggest state victory in 40 years since Roe v. Wade: a sweeping expansion of abortion law that, if enforced, could put Catholic hospitals and many state-funded ministries out of business.
Cuomo’s approval ratings have topped 70% for six straight months, and, with just two years in office, he has already pushed through controversial same-sex “marriage” legislation and the most restrictive gun-control law in the nation.
Cuomo, who is Catholic, now is setting his sights on succeeding where governors for the past six years have failed: passing the proposed Reproductive Health Care Act.
But Cuomo has included the act as part of his 10-point “women’s equality” agenda, which includes a raise in the minimum wage, tougher anti-housing discrimination laws and measures against domestic violence and sex-trafficking.
Catholic bishops in New York’s Catholic Conference and pro-life groups are raising the alarm that Cuomo’s proposals are both “radical” and “dangerous” to unborn children, women and religious freedom.
“Gov. Cuomo’s bill elevates abortion to a fundamental right and says New York state can’t discriminate on abortion in benefits or services or anything else it provides,” said Kathleen Gallagher, the conference’s director of pro-life activities.

He and his fellow child-killers want to kill more children and shut the opposition, the Catholic hospitals, down. He is a traitor to the Constitution, and he is fostering civil war. Any politician who makes unconstitutional law is in effect making war on the People, who are the embodiment of the Republic.
Cuomo is a counterfeit Christian, drunk on his own power while worshiping what he wants instead of what the Lord says to do. Those who go against the Laws of God will be punished. History shows the evidence. Everything we do really matters. Our behaviors, decisions, and beliefs affect everyone around us. One of the worst things to do is claim to be Christian and then go and do the evil that Cuomo does. The devil has his brain disengaged.

They all should be seriously admonished by the Church and then excommunicated. And the church wonders why it’s losing members???? If nothing is done about these blatant sinners against God’s law and life, then there’s nothing here for me – I can do anything I want. No wonder murder is taken so lightly.

My son-in-law was the last of a refugee family’s children and only one born in the US – They named him ‘Eisenhower’ – so grateful were they to arrive here and for the US troops who made it possible.

It’s been years since hell, fire and damnation – we all know God loves us – that cannot be stressed too much but the church had a golden opportunity over the gay adoption, marriage issue and hardly made a ripple except for abortion. It got them nowhere because now Andrew Cuomo, gov. of NY, Catholic ,is pushing for abortion and Cardinal Dolan writes him a letter. Nobody spared the church when the paedophile stiuation broke; which was a good thing – ergo, when Nancy Pelosi went to Rome a few years back and the Pope gave her communion, I was shocked – she preached abortion before she went to Rome, rec’d communion, came back to the US and picked up where she left off. The woman should have been drop kicked out of the Basilica and publically humiliated.
We hear NOTHING about which the Pope is saying re: American Catholics – The people in our church have too much to say; they do their ‘religion’ their way – come in just before the offeratory, stay through the Consecration, and leave after Communion (before the Priest).
We live in central Fl….you don’t know if the parishioners are going to the beach or coming from the beach- it’s a disgrace; women & girls in short shorts, micro minis, cut off jeans, low, low tops, flip flops etc. Men in shorts – short or bermuda, wife beaters (sleeveless tank tops), flip flops, sandals, – it’s gross – this is God’s house.
Of course there are many, many who realize where they are….and we all lament the situations but nothing has ever been said, done – but there’s hope, we have a new priest and I don’t think he will allow this much longer. I’ve obviously gone on more than long enough – but since I’ve lived from Nova Scotia to Key West, I’ve been in hundreds of Catholic churches and none (save one) as wonderful as when I was in school. You are so right, smogdew. The Clergy of the Catholic Church are not hard enough on these child-killers in the Church. I think it has to do with their tax exempt status. They can’t mention names or they’ll lose their tax exempt status. But, that’s ridiculous. They shouldn’t let the government control them. It’s the same thing as serving Herod instead of Christ. This lack of discipline from the Clergy, I hate to say, will bring on a severe chastisement upon the Catholic Church; the likes we’ve never seen before. We are living in the time of the AntiChrist and he will persecute true Christians the most with torture and death. The Holy Father, the Pope, will have much to suffer.
Let’s clear something up. Just because they say they are Catholic doesn’t mean they are and they have proven it time and time again that it is just moniker to charm some voters. I am a Catholic in the true sense and these imitators have no idea of what Catholicism is. Some stupid bishops won’t ex-communicate them which makes them less than Catholic as well. I am embarrassed that they dare to consider themselves Catholic when they truly are not. Just a facade and a charade. Nevertheless, they will have to answer to God for what they are and what they are doing. For every action, there is definitely reaction whether on earth or heaven or hell. Their belief system is not mine nor of true Catholics. They are jokers and stupid!

i understand abortion in cases of rape, incest and if the mother or babies life is threatened by continuing with the pregnancy. i don’t get why, with sooooooo many methods of birth control, preventing pregnancy and with several after pills a woman wants to be able to rips a baby from within her and throw it in the trash or worst give partial birth to it then to have a huge needle shoved into the base of its head, its brains scrambled, sucked out and its head crushed in order to remove it, then thrown away. another way is if a baby survives an abortion, its takes to the disposal and thrown away and left kicking and screaming without care to die. obama voted to allow this 3x. i can’t imagine being in a hospital and walking into the wrong room looking for the restroom and come upon that!! i’d have to do something or i couldn’t live with myself!! i don’t know how women who do this…who want to do this can live with themselves.
but…. on the other hand, they want to protect children, remember? That’s why they want to take our personal defenses away. Regarding Catholics… It is up to the local bishop to do something about politicians or others in public light who promote abortion or gay marriage or other things the Catholic church condemns. The majority of American Bishops is pretty liberal. However, in Lincoln, Nebraska is Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz, who is my hero! If you Google him, you will see a true man of God. I believe he recently retired, but during his time as bishop in Lincoln, he warned Catholics supporting Planned Parenthood and other anti-Catholic groups, that they would be excommunicated, and he had a letter from the Vatican backing him up! I don’t know of any other American bishop who has done this, but this guy is truly a courageous bishop and my hero!
The only ones that will be hurt are the poor. Cuomo should not bite the hands that feed them. If Catholic hospitals close the poor and down and out will have nowhere to go for their healthcare. What a legacy. As usual the poor will be last in line for healthcare. Obamacare will push the poor to the back of the line as the expansion of Medicaid drives more doctors out of the profession and the fewer of them will take Medicaid. e
