During the more than 200 years since ratification of the United States Constitution, no God-given right has resisted a more determined opposition than the right to keep and bear arms. Gun owners have been threatened with fines and imprisonment for wishing to defend family and property. In Connecticut, law-abiding Americans were rendered defenseless by state statute, their slaughter knowingly and deliberately facilitated by politicians interested only in the implementation of an anti-gun agenda.
The Sandy Hook killings have predictably prompted calls to ban “assault weapons;” the firearms with which the American people can most effectively defend life and liberty. A horrified Left maintains private ownership of these rifles must end because such weapons are meant only for killing! Self-important, nanny state elitists apparently don’t understand that the principle purpose of all firearms is killing. After all, the defense of life, property and liberty is only respected when a very real threat of death is forced upon those who would take these most cherished of possessions from us.
Yet our capacity to defend life and liberty is to be statutorily tempered by those who refuse to trust American citizens with the most effective weapons at our disposal. In short, the Left “…want us to believe that so long as we can own some kind of firearm, after our semi-auto military rifles are taken, we are not disarmed.”
Shortly after the battles of Lexington and Concord, Samuel Adams addressed the following to those who had assisted the British in their attempt to confiscate powder and weapons from the colonists:
“If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”
Never were cowards and traitors more eloquently dismissed from the company of patriots.
Cowards and traitors exist now as in Adams’ day; cowards willing to surrender their weapons to a tyrannical state and traitors willing to surrender the rights of other Americans.
But the rest of us will overcome these individuals and resist the efforts of a corrupt government to enslave the American public by refusing to obey any law which further intrudes on our Second Amendment rights. Be it a ban on ownership or attempt at outright confiscation, the duty of Americans will be to fight, not comply.

the title assertion that Americans will never give up their 2nd amendment rights may be pollyanna at worst, hopeful at best. We are being conditioned to accept that loss in the name of security. At worst, if the current administration continues past 4 yrs by either the current president being reelected again, or an Obama clone installed, there may be an in-your-face attempt to legislate the constitution out of existence, or an amendment redefining the 2nd amendment to only mean the government.
We cannot rest on the hope that Americans will never allow the loss of this right. We must fight now to stop this before it goes ANY further.
Perhaps you are being ‘conditioned,’ like Pavlov’s dog but this is not Russia or China and conditioning is only effective if you are complicit in ACCEPTING programming. I am NOT. Neither should anyone else who loves their liberty and has served in uniform and under arms when the government provided you the trainiing to defend and uphold the constitution they aim to destroy in violation of that same oath WE all HONORED and, which they do not! It is not hard to avoid conditioning if you realize that the lawbreakers here, ARE THOSE IN CONGRESS; who by their legislation against traditional AMERICAN values, history, faith and conventional morality and culture and their refusal to ENFORCE existing laws in an equitable manner have CAUSED THE OUTBREAK OF INCIDENTS THEY THEN USE TO TRY AND DISARM AMERICAN CITIZENS. It is they, not us , who disregards and disdain the Constitution and they shouls all be held both responsible and accountable for their dereliction of duty and malfeasance in office.

The question is raised. Will you fire upon those at your door to confiscate and be duly executed or will you give up you firearms and live to fight another day? Look at your kids and wife and then decide. Life’s a bitch aint it?
there comes a time when our lives, property and sacred honor requires that sacrifice, just as it did for our founders. I did not suggest that we fight in that manner, not yet. There is yet time to fight the fight on a social front, and educational front, and a political front; but not much time left…
It is not time to fight when they are at your doorstep. They will certainly out number you at that moment. Hide your guns and ammo. Such as bury them in caches at least several feet and put nails and varies strips of metals scattered around the area to assist in throwing off metal detectors if used. There is likely they will not take the time to search the entire nation for buried caches.
When the day comes that they start to go door to door to invade citizens homes, an uprising will and should occur. Once a well armed and well formed militia is assembled, then it will come time to resist and conquer the tyrannical Government. But don’t resist on your own, it is sure suicide to fight a government military or even a local police force by one’s self.
Be smart and pick your battles wisely. As it is said, you don’t need to win all the battles in order to win the war.
The American Government has declared war on our Constitution thereby they have declared war on the American people. Claiming it is out dated document and has no relevance in modern day society and attempting to destroy our Constitution as if it is an enemy of our Country and then attempting to claim that anyone that agrees with and believes in our Constitution is an enemy of the American Government. An assault on our Constitution is an assault on its People. Make no mistake, The liberals/ socialist/ Communist running our Government have without reasonable doubt in fact declared war on the American People by attaching the Constitution. The Constitution is the base, the foundation by which makes and has made this Country what it was. Like a house or building or any other structure, it must has a solid foundation or the structure will sink and crumble and fall apart and eventually cease to exist. The American Government has been eroding away at our foundation for years now, eventually we are going to have to stand together and repair and restore that foundation or stand back and allow that structure to be condemned and vacate the premises.
Nobama2012, You put it quite eloquently. Thomas Jefferson would have liked to say those same words. Our government IS trying and if we let them will succeed in enslaving all Americans and turning us over to the Chinese as payment for the debts they (the politicians ran up). As for myself, I am a former soldier who has served our country, stand with other like minded Patriots and ridding our Country of all these communist politico with force if necessary. Without Freedom, life is not worth living.

If the government does start to confiscate our weapons we need to band together as armed citizens and tell the police or military which ever the case maybe to put down their weapons and go home to their family and friends and quit supporting a illegal communist government.

Give up your weapons, you will have given up any chance of freedom. If they are allowed to confinscate your guns, they will then have the power to take anything they want. Not happening in my world.
I suspect our so-called leadership will allow the “assault weapons” ban to be re-instituted in order to placate the rabid anti-gun crowd. We survived the ban last time (it was allowed to expire), but will “letting the camel’s nose in the tent” again finally allow the anti-gun crowd to build on their success and eventually confiscate firearms?
Imagine the likes of Nancy Pelosi, who has no idea which end of a firearm is the business end, cherry picking which rifles, pistols, magazines, and ammo will be banned. How about the buffoon, Joe Biden? They don’t know the difference in semi-automatic/automatic, or magazine/clip, so what qualifies them to knowledgeably and intelligently discuss “gun control?” Same goes for the liberal media’s talking heads.
Banning, even confiscating firearms will not prevent the demented and deranged from.wreaking havoc if they so choose. Many other weapons are available, including the family car. Violence is a many faceted issue,and recent tragic events underline the need for action, but action needs to be preceded at least a modicum of reason and careful thought. Try selling that concept to a liberal, gun-grabber or not.
Make no mistake, the well-financed Kenyan and his minions want your guns and will do everything they can to get them. Hopefully we will not have to stop this foolishness on our doorsteps.
This along with everything else that has been perpetrated on the American people is absolutely mind-blowing. I cannot get over it. Why isn’t someone who is supposed to represent the people of this country standing up for us and our rights!!!? It’s totally ludicrous.How many more violations of our Constitution and Bill of Rights are we going to allow? I agree with what you stated except the part: “only in America could this happen because of our tolerance and freedom.” Freedom did not get us into this problem, tolerance and corruption got us into this problem. If we truly had freedom we would have our questions answered and transparency. Everything, and I mean everything has and is hidden, sealed and witheld not only from the public but also by anyone of authority whom might not agree with the contents of which are being hidden. Which then corruption and distortions and lies take the place of freedoms.
