For those not quite sold on the claim that the mainstream media possess a palpable liberal bias, a recent ABC broadcast should put any doubt to rest.
Reporting on news that the Supreme Court will review gay marriage legality, the network’s “World News” program offered a lopsided newscast with a clear predilection for the leftist view.
Though the segment was generally one-sided, by far the most offensive aspect was a visual depiction of Westboro Baptist Church protesters as the ABC anchor described the feelings of “opponents of gay marriage.”
For anyone unfamiliar with the “church”, members often interrupt military funerals with signs asking God for “more dead soldiers” and operate a website called “God Hates Fags”.
The inclusion of such an unabashedly hate-filled group in the broadcast suggests one of two things: either ABC producers genuinely believe that the Westboro clan represents the current climate among social conservatives, or they are intentionally trying to demonize the right by fabricating a nonexistent connection.
Personally, I think the latter is more likely, though the cocoon of leftism in which most of these people reside can certainly limit their exposure to traditional Americans.
Immediately following the incendiary Westboro protest footage, the newscast aired the only response by an individual against gay marriage. Of course, an introduction by idiots holding signs such as “God Hates America” doesn’t go very far in providing a hospitable environment for conservative thought.
A spokesperson for the Family Research Council – which was the target of a hate crime by an armed gay rights advocate just months earlier – received less than 10 seconds of airtime.
Receiving much more time and a friendlier forum was a lesbian who has been active in her opposition to the Defense of Marriage Act.
For all the left’s adoration of the Fairness Doctrine, which ostensibly existed to provide audiences with diverse views, those in the mainstream media are completely tone-deaf to any opinion aside from the radical left.

People are gay due to a DEFECT in the hormonal balance of their mothers’ wombs. That came out in a SCIENTIFIC article this week.
So, since this is a DEFECT and science has a role in countering defects with treatment, we ALL ought to be for giving homosexuals Treatment to “better their lives” – it’d be the Progressive thing to do, so all Democrats ought to promote this idea!
My belief is that it’s a life CHOICE and not being born that way. I may be wrong Stevor but of the few people I know of who live close in my area, it clearly is a choice and nothing more. As far as the church, I don’t consider it nothing close to being a church. Since it’s members are all family, I believe it’s nothing but a cult who mixes Biblical quotes, hate and it’s founders own personal beliefs . They are one of the groups who give Christianity a bad name and are responsible for keeping some people from wanting to learn more about Almighty God. Both groups are defective and one will die out while the other will pay with cash it’s way into our lives such as they’ve already done in different states with legalized marriage etc. Both groups should be stopped. If you’re a believer in things that will happen in end times scenarios then, both groups fit into it perfectly.

Where are the names or time and date of broadcast? I have no use for idiots on either side of the aisle and this is a stupid blog Agee. You must be hard up for something to keep your advertisers happy.
Though I do wish everyone in the Western Journalism audience enjoys each of the articles I contribute, I know that won’t be the case. The fact that you disapprove — for whatever reason — does not make this a “stupid blog.” You might not be concerned by a newscast depicting traditional marriage proponents as hate-filled idiots, but others obviously are. I hope you’ll continue reading my columns, though, as it is my belief you’ll realize I don’t write for advertisers but in an effort to inform and engage readers. “Fairness”, “equality” and words like these now have new meanings. The meaning is being dictated by the radical left. Their definition excludes whites, Christians, Jews, heterosexuals–well, you know the list. Open season has been declared on traditional thinking in America.
