When President Obama’s budget came out in February, with the greatest expansion of federal spending in American history, some sycophantic media outlets like The Washington Post ridiculously tried to sell the concept that Obama was pushing “deep cuts.” It was a publicity line that collapsed on itself within 24 hours.
The Democrats are doing nothing to rein in the spending that is leading America into bankruptcy. What the Republican leadership is proposing, with its minuscule cuts, is next to nothing.
Freshman Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky is about the only one trying to be serious, and for that he will be massacred, if the media have their way. On the Feb. 23 broadcast of ABC’s “Nightline,” they actually cartooned him as a crazed maniac with a chain saw. It was presented as “news,” but it had all the markings of a negative ad cooked up in the video lab at the DNC.
Over this over-the-top animation, ABC’s Bill Weir spun like a top: “So, while the president argues for a budget scalpel (Obama looking reasonable, holding a scalpel), Rand Paul would use a chain saw, shutting down the departments of Energy and Education. He would kill the Consumer Product Safety Commission, shrink the Pentagon and cut off all foreign aid.”

This story explains very clearly why I now consider ABD a cartoon.
Considering that they are owned by Disney
ABC is such an embarrassment to journalism in general that i find it a waste of time to even comment on their actions or statements.
That's a pretty nice chainsaw. Was it union made? ABC, CBS and NBC, along with CNN, CNBC,
all of those, are absolutely being exploited by the govt to push their propaganda on the American
people. The only news media I prefer to always get my fresh updated news from in FOX. At least
they tell the story and tell both sides, fair and balanced.
Did you see who made that saw? Makita! So much for union made
Japan is one of the 16 nations that has a HIGHER percentage of union membership than the U.S., and every Makita employee except management and a few others is required to be a member of the union. So yes, the saw likely was union made, along with your other Japanese tools and cars (except those now made in U.S. right-to-work-for-less southern states).
Wow – Yahoo actually carried a conservative story! Thanks Yahoo!
And you wonder where ABC's audience is going? It's to FOX News policy of fair and balanced reporting.. key word is reporting here. Nowhere else can you get such unbiased , no conclusions drawn reporting of facts. You would think , by now, other "news" organizations would copy the winning format that FOX has. Not only would it regain viewer ship and ad revenues, it would return unbiased fact reporting to their airwaves just like FOX has done all along.
Hey, ABC has some good entertainment – King of the Hill, The Emporor's New School,
The Replacements.
PS: President Bush made mistakes, but he did not bring this country down all by himself he had lots of help from even the ones that repeat that "Last Eight Years" campaign slogan. I heard that yesterday again. Nice slogan, not totally factual.
Obama won't cut anything, & most of the old time incumbants don't want to either. The only people who are really trying to make some cuts are the newly elected (Mostly Tea Party Members) . The extened time to keep the country running is a crock. The House Members should have stood their ground & let things come to a stand still. By giving the whitehouse & the Senate more time, the incumbant Republicans will end up caving in to Obama & the Democrats, I doubt there will be many cuts at all. They need to cut spending by at least One Trillion dollars for a start.
