Count me out from those who would conclude that we got it just right in marking the 10th anniversary of 9/11. We got it only half right — the well-deserved honors to the nearly 3,000 victims, the formal and informal remembrances of who they were and what a great loss they were to family, friends and acquaintances. They fully merited all the solemn attention and resolve to never forget them.
But what was missing was what should have been the other half of the 9/11 commemoration — reminders of who exactly the 19 plane hijackers were, where they came from, what animated them to make such a gross and vicious attack on the very heart of America. In reading the papers and watching the TV news, I didn’t find any comparable reminders of Mohammed Atta, the leader of the hijackers who piloted the first plane into the World Trade Center. Where did he come from and what drove him to suicidal destruction of America’s crown jewels? What exactly was his agenda? Why were most of the hijackers Saudis? What does it teach us about what was inculcated in them?
And most important, has their jihadist agenda against the West expanded or ebbed in the last 10 years? While there was no second 9/11 during the last 10 years, how many Mohammed Attas are still being nurtured and groomed in Pakistan and Afghanistan, to say nothing of Yemen, Gaza, the West Bank, Algeria, Lebanon, and Muslim enclaves in France, Germany and, yes, even in the good old USA?
All that seemed to have fallen victim to institutional amnesia and a collective media decision not to touch that half of 9/11 lest they be accused of Isalmophobia.
My guess is that the victims of 9/11 would not have wanted such a politically correct, half-baked commemoration in their honor. Certainly not the passengers aboard the plane that went down in Pennsylvania who showed far more guts and moral clarity than their mourners today.

The 9/11 commemoration Sunday in NY was like a Pearl Harbor observance without ever mentioning Japan.
Well, Leo, if you were an American thinker, you would ask why several "hijackers" were still reported alive two weeks after. You might also ask, how Al CIAduh was able to get NORAD to stand down, or at least, get the information of the alleged training which very coincidentally was modeled after a threat using planes to crash into buildings. You might also ask how Building 7 fell into it's own foot print when is was not hit by a building. Not enough thinking going on around here.

I'm sorry but I'm not a truther. If you think this was an insider job to start a war with Iran, why were there no stock piles of weapons of mass destruction found? If you believe that 911 was staged, couldn't they have staged stock piles of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq to say we were right and Iran was the right war.
Because they were stored UNDERGROUND and could have only been found with INSIDE HELP – they were and are there!!

What should have been discussed was, the absolute failure of our military to do their jobs, and then after the fiasco of back patting, we had to endure all these failure being given advanced commands, promotions, and Medals of Freedom. If this is the best they can do, then why are we wasting our time changing governments in the Middle East. Americans should be united in changing ours back to the original intent of our Constitution. Pearl Harbor was another bad joke on the American people: change out the military leadership, and then remove their radar. If our people have not, by now, taken the time to investigate the atrocities of 9/11, then I fear they will remain ignorant and keep this treason going for decades to come. Surely American voters can not be this stupid, or asleep; all the evidence is in plain site, and we choose to ignore the real facts. No airplane hit the Pentagon, and those buildings in NYC did not fall because of fire. Wake up America, you are being destroyed from within, and our fake enemies off shore do not exist in real numbers.
The USA learned that we came of age and responded witha volunteer force that knows the only good terrorist is a dead one and that the wahbi, islamic, cult, OBL nutcases that prey on the innocent prove there is a more prevalent reason to exterminate them than any cult idea they can dream up….they are terrorist.

How can our AIR FORCE GENERALS sleep at night by letting this trajedy happen? No one was fired or demoted or resigned. Our military is supposed to defend this country and the let us down I will never forget! I would like an independent (no government officials) investigation, there are a lot of unanswered questions on who was behind this trajedy and why these buildings fell so quickly.
