Obama Signs Away Your Legal Protections

With the signing of an under-publicized amendment to Executive Order 12425, Barack Obama has fundamentally altered your constitutional rights. His actions are undermining your rights to protect personal privacy from a foreign internationalist police agency named Interpol.

Barack Obama American flag SC Obama signs away your legal protections

A one-paragraph executive order may seem inconsequential to many, but this action has far-reaching implications and threatens the sovereignty of America.

Obama’s secretive executive order amended an order issued by President Reagan in 1983. Reagan’s order recognized Interpol as an international organization and gave it privileges and immunities commonly extended to foreign diplomats. Reagan opened the door to allow Interpol to operate in partnership with the U.S. but with significant constitutional safeguards. Specifically, Interpol’s property and assets remained subject to search and seizure by American law enforcement, and its archived records remained subject to public scrutiny under provisions of the Freedom of Information Act. Interpol had to answer to the FBI and U.S. courts under Reagan’s order. These safeguards were stripped away by Obama’s action the week before Christmas without debate or explanation. Obama picked the holiday season to make this radical change, to minimize media coverage.

This order marks a significant change in federal policy and usurps the constitutional power of our government by yielding it to an international organization. Michael van Der Galien writes, “This foreign law-enforcement organization can operate free of an important safeguard against government and abuse. Property and assets, including the organization’s records, cannot now be searched or seized. Their physical operational locations are now immune from U.S. legal and investigative authorities.”

Obama has given an international organization unsupervised freedom to investigate Americans on our own soil without recourse or the supervision of our own government.

Obama’s executive order has done more to weaken civil liberties than the much-maligned Patriot Act. The silence in the mainstream media on this issue should scare all freedom-loving Americans. Obama just signed away parts of our precious legal protections.

Feds Subpoena Bloggers For Posting TSA Security Memo

tsa col logo SC Feds Subpoena Bloggers For Posting TSA Security Memo

Federal agents went to the homes of two bloggers Tuesday to issue subpoenas in an effort to find out who leaked them a memo on the Transportation Security Administration’s enhanced security procedures in the wake of the failed Christmas Day terror attack.

The agents looked through the computer, Blackberry, and iPhone of one of the bloggers, and told him they’d sit outside his house until he gave them the information they wanted, he says.

On Sunday, Chris Elliott, a well-regarded travel journalist who writes for National Geographic, MSNBC, and the Washington Post, published on his blog a TSA security directive, issued in the hours after the failed bombing incident. The directive, which went to airline, airport, and government personnel, outlined enhanced screening procedures, including performing a “thorough pat-down of all passengers at boarding gate prior to boarding, concentrating on upper legs and torso.”

Around the same time, Steven Frischling, who writes a blog for KLM Dutch Royal airlines, posted the same directive.

Two days later, agents for the TSA, a division of the Department of Homeland Security, visited both men at home, and issued them subpoenas.

Rush Limbaugh Admitted To Honolulu Hospital

Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh is resting comfortably in a Hawaii hospital after suffering chest pains while on vacation, his radio program says.

Rush Limbaugh arms crossed SC Rush Limbaugh admitted to Honolulu hospital

“Rush appreciates your prayers and well wishes and will keep you updated via rushlimbaugh.com and on his radio program,” the program said in a statement late Wednesday night.

Limbaugh was rushed for medical treatment earlier in the day. The statement said “Rush was admitted to and is resting comfortably in a Honolulu hospital today after suffering chest pains.”

Kit Carson, Limbaugh’s chief of staff, told The Associated Press that he had no further information on Limbaugh’s condition.

He said the 58-year-old left for his usual Christmas vacation on Dec. 23 and is due to return to his show on Jan. 4. Carson didn’t have any information on whether that schedule would change.

Prior to the program statement, Honolulu television station KITV reported that paramedics took Limbaugh to The Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition from the Kahala Hotel and Resort.

Wikipedia Calls WND’s Farah A ‘twit, Jew-loving Pig’

In the latest of a years-long Wikipedia campaign of hurling smears at WND’s founder, Joseph Farah was characterized as a “Zionist Twit and Jew Loving Pig” on the site that claims to be an online encyclopedia.

Farah said the anti-Semitic attack is just the most recent in a long series of libelous and defamatory statements about him and his company that have been published by Wikipedia over the last five years.

On Dec. 29, 2009, Farah’s profile began with: “Joseph Farah is an American author, journalist and editor-in-chief of the conservative website WorldNetDaily (WND). He is a known [expletive] sucker.”
A Dec. 12, 2009, Wikipedia entry read, “WorldNetDaily is an [sic] far-right American online web site that publishes editorials from a Christian conservative and pro-white point of view.”

On Nov. 16, 2009, Farah’s Wikipedia profile stated: “It is a widely known rumour [sic] that Mr. Farah is a closet homosexual and has been repeatedly criticized for his hypocrisy.”

On Oct. 10, 2009, WND was dubbed “an American independent article and editorial based online tabloid that publishes from a radical right wing point of view.”

On Sept. 6, 2009, Wikipedia described WND as this: “WorldNetDaily is a terrorist news- and editorial-based publishing news and opinion from a Republican or conservative point of view. Founded in May 1997 with the unstated intentions of devoting 70% coverage to portraying Islam as Anti-Christ to fulfil [sic] the armaagedon [sic] and rapture fantasies that most of its founders carry, and with the stated intentions of “exposing wrongdoing, corruption and abuse of power.”

Danish Editorial: Obama Greater Than Jesus

He is provocative in insisting on an outstretched hand, where others only see animosity.

Obama King Holiday 406811x Danish Editorial: Obama greater than Jesus Obama is greater than Jesus according to the Danish Press

His tangible results in the short time that he has been active – are few and far between. His greatest results have been created with words and speeches – words that remain in the consciousness of their audience and have long-term effects.

He comes from humble beginnings and defends the weak and vulnerable, because he can identify himself with their conditions.

And no we are not thinking of Jesus Christ, whose birthday has just been celebrated – - but rather the President of the United States Barack Hussein Obama.

For some time now, comparisons between the two have been a tool of cynical opinion that quickly became fatigued of the rapture that Obama instilled prior to and after the presidential election last year.

From the start, Obama’s critics have claimed that his supporters have idolised him as a saviour, thus attempting to dismantle the concrete hope that Obama has represented for most Americans.

If such a comparison were to be made, it would, of course, inevitably be to Obama’s advantage.

Joy Behar Moronically Claims "Palins Base Doesn’t Read"

Sarah Palin speech SC Joy Behar moronically claims "Palins Base Doesnt Read"

Maybe that paraphrase of one of Yogi Berra’s famous malapropisms helps to explain this dichotomy on the left. Over the weekend, esteemed broadcast professional Joy Behar, who replaced Glenn Beck on CNN’s Headline News channel when he went off to green pastures and boffo ratings at Fox, told her viewer that Sarah Palin’s “base doesn’t even read:”

Joy Behar expressed confusion about the success of Sarah Palin’s book because, according to the CNN Headline News/ABC talk show host, a lot of the former governor’s “base doesn’t even read.”

Behar slammed Palin, as well as Glenn Beck, Carrie Prejean and other conservatives  during her “look back at 2009″ edition of the “Joy Behar Show” that re-aired over Christmas weekend.

An “esteemed” panel consisting of comedians Sandra Bernhard, Mo Rocca and Dave Attell joined Behar in mocking this year’s prominent voices on the right.

Bernhard claimed that people who bought Palin’s book “like to look at pictures. There’s only one on the cover, but they like to look at that picture.”

But back in November, the Huffington Post pondered a “Separate NY Times Bestsellers List for ‘Conservative Blockbusters:’”

David Shuster Lashes Out At Conservatives

Wow: David Shuster really lets it all hang out on Twitter . . .

In current tweets, the MSNBCer accuses Karl Rove of “hypocrisy,” calls conservatives “wingnuts,” claims Baucus wasn’t wasted, and denounces Drudge as “repulsive” for supposedly suggesting otherwise.

Excerpts from Shuster’s current Twitter feed [screencap below]:

Thank you Wingnuts! By mentioning my tweets, you are bringing more attention to @karlrove hypocrisy

Wingnuts, just because you want to believe something is true does not make it so. Obama wasn’t born in Kenya. Baucus wasn’t inebriated.

Baucus speech was at 430pm in the afternoon. He was incensed at Wicker. He was emotional. To smear him, as drudge does, is repulsive.

Re Baucus emotional floor speech last week: He always speaks in a halting fashion. The wingnut claims are lies and disgusting smears.

And as for David’s countless fans among NB readers, worried he might disappear from the MSNBC airwaves: never fear . . .  Shuster assures us that when MSNBC’s 2010 line-up is announced “I’ll be fine.” Whew!

Media Vacations With Obama?

Barack Obama blue shirt SC Media Vacations With Obama?

Media bias can sometimes be difficult to nail down. While looking around for some comparison opportunities on vacationing presidents, citing just one of many to be found below, it’s unclear if our media cares more about the lives of Palestinians, or vacationing Democrat presidents.

Whatever their motivations, a survey suggests their priority is either not the protection and defense of America; or it is the protection of a Democrat in office.

To be fair, former President Bush enjoyed plenty of vacation time. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that former presidents have encouraged sitting office holders to make the most of them when they’re planned. Also, advanced communications today give reason to ask just how out of touch any sitting president might be at a given time. However, how the media handles presidential vacations is a different matter. A non-biased media would be consistent.

Days ago a terrorist was about as successful as one could be without succeeding in trying to murder a large number of Americans by bringing down a commercial airliner. As Michelle Malkin points out, Obama was slow to respond, later did – weakly, and has cited a “systemic failure” in our nation’s homeland security system, while praising Janet Napolitano, his cabinet-level appointee responsible for DHS. Meanwhile, the International press has been covering a broader current threat from an alleged Yemen-based network of trained al Qaeda operatives.

He has delivered two hasty, tie-less statements on homeland security from a makeshift podium in Honolulu whose underwhelming sum impact has been the equivalent of voting “present” (Obama’s career m.o.) By his own admission and in direct contradiction to his hapless DHS Secretary, the president acknowledged yesterday that “systemic failure” led to the breach.

MSNBC Drops Daytime Opinion Format

Opinionated talk is big business on cable news networks when the sun goes down.

MSNBC logo SC MSNBC drops daytime opinion format

During the day, though, it’s the opposite.

MSNBC is shuffling its daytime lineup early next year because its strategy of spreading personality-driven programming throughout the schedule isn’t working. The new approach will emphasize a fast-paced review of the day’s big stories as they break.

Either the prime-time audience for cable news is substantially different from the daytime one or viewers simply want to see something different depending on the time of day.

Cable news is often considered a form of background noise during the day, playing in the office or at home while people are doing something else. Sometimes people briefly visit the networks for a check of the headlines, says CNN’s John King.
